Not exactly. #Cavediving is an exercise in logistics and mitigating every risk with a backup plan. The only real risk is a geological disturbance, which is rare as the water in the cave essentially supports the cave structure.

  5. Yesterday's "Between the Ears" on Radio 3 dropped something extraordinary: "Dead Man's Handshake" bbc.co.uk/programmes/m002dcdg 🤝

1978. Keld Head. Three experienced cave divers enter flooded passages. One vanishes. No trace. 🫢

Geoff Yeadon tells his story. Martyn Farr reflects. Michael Thomas warns: "Soon the Grim Reaper is sitting on your shoulder, having a little chat." 💀

This programme doesn't glorify danger, it honours it. Atmospheric soundtrack. First-hand accounts from cave diving royalty. Honest examination of risks we face in Britain's hidden aquatic cathedrals. Essential listening for anyone serious about underground exploration.

  7. Cave diving in France

One of our favorite region for diving is the Lot region in #France. The picture shows @tinca_tinca in the beautiful cave Cunhac, for some divers also known as 'Ressel 2'. It is quite small cave, a few hundred meters long and 45m deep. But nonetheless it is always worth a dive. Especially if the visibility is good. 🤩

  8. From a diver's perspective 🤿

This is the entrance area of the #CuevaDelAgua an underwater #cave. The view upwards shows you an impressive ceiling. It somehow reminds you of stalactites. But this cave wasn't dry long enough for that. You think about how the water has created this work of art over thousands of years...

What will you discover around the next corner?

  14. Osama Gobara - #cavediving Explorer

What I really like in Os is his humble manner. The guy does dives down to 150m in remote areas. Expeditions in caves without seeing light for weeks.

But he is also a very good teacher. And you can see from look in his eyes that he just loves #diving. No matter what.
