@ascentale @bikescape We have one permanent counter, I believe, on a public trail that counts pedestrians and cyclists that day and for the year so far. I don't think the data is listed anywhere beyond just flashing on the counter, but it would be nice to have more of them because people often stop to look at the numbers and it would be nice to be able to compare the active transportation traffic at different places around the city.

We're doing some yard and home maintenance this weekend, but our hatchback is just slightly too short to carry the eavestroughs we plan to put up on the garage to capture more rainwater for the yard. Fortunately, my bike trailer was up for the job!

Crash cyclist / cement truck in #yxe. CBC TV called to do another interview. On location this pm. Told me 2 children in a trailer behind their deceased mother are uninjured. One cyclist every 20-30 seconds between 7 and 8am on #Meewasin Trail in #Saskatoon between 33rd Street and University Bridge. 3-4x more than between 6 and 7am. Two days this week.

If you say “parking” more times than you say “cyclists,” “ pedestrians,” or “safety” during your active transportation project presentation, you have also failed to plan for what really matters.

If you’re planning an active transportation route and your solution for cyclists to work around the infrastructure you’re proposing in order to get where they’re going is for cyclists to get off their bikes and walk or to bike on the road with a high traffic flow and mix of semis and buses, you have failed to design an active transportation route.
