I have uninstalled Instagram, Threads, and Facebook and am not going to be using any profiles on there any more. At the moment I cannot be bothered to delete all my accounts but I have left messages on those platforms for people to follow me elsewhere, as in on my personal blog or on Mastodon. Felt like the only course of action I feel comfortable with, Meta has always been bad but this last week just was too much. #ByeByeMeta #ByeByeFacebook #ByeByeInstagram #byeByeThreads

So yesterday decided to delete Facebook account (again) it went pretty well, bumped into some old friends and exchanging phone numbers hasn't changed much; i.e one gives the other a number and we prank call the other one and add to the phone book. Not really missing much, the world still turns and I get to bore people in the #Fediverse about 1st world problems.
Upsides so far are mor time to spend doing real world things and not staring at a screen. Dogs are getting even more attention than normal.
I've set up whatsapp groups or Snapchat groups for the family so we can still wind each other up and exchange suitable comedic funnies and memes.
Downsides so far are having to actually search for stuff (local news) on their own websites instead of having it rammed in your face on a timeline.
Apart from that no separation anxiety sic! Still on Threads ( very rarely) on Instagram and X.Picture for attention
