In den 1990er und 2000er Jahren, im Schatten der rassistischen Pogrome, die das wiedervereinte Deutschland nach 1989 überrollten, entstand eine starke antifaschistische Bewegung. Die Antifa arbeitete auf vielen Feldern so professionell wie kaum eine andere selbstorganisierte Kraft der Neuzeit. Von militanten Aktionen über politische Bildung bis hin zur Recherche – die Antifa hat es sich zur Aufgabe gemacht, dem erstarkenden Neofaschismus entgegenzutreten.
Fünf Aktivist:innen sprechen zum ersten Mal öffentlich über ihre Aktivitäten und verschmelzen mit zahlreichem Film und Bildmaterial aus Archiven zu einer intensiven Dokumentation. Statt eines einfachen historischen Rückblicks legt der Film die Schichten frei, die den Mythos Antifa überlagern. Er gibt Einblicke in eine Form der politischen Arbeit, die zu heftigen Überreaktionen bei Staat und Bürgertum führte und doch immer notwendig war.
Der Dokumentarfilm unternimmt einen historischen Streifzug durch die Höhepunkte der Antifa-Bewegung, die eine unterschätzte Rolle im Deutschland der 1990er und 2000er Jahre spielte. Der Fokus liegt dabei nicht auf Einzelereignissen, sondern auf den verschiedenen Praktiken und Methoden, die von Aktivisten:innen verwendet wurden.
Von  Strassenkämpfen, über investigative Recherchen und Aufklärungskampagnen bis hin zu den Herausforderungen der Provinz, die von Selbstverteidigung und dem Schutz anderer geprägt ist, dokumentiert der Film durch Archivmaterial, Fotos und szenische Alltagsbilder die Geschichte einer Bewegung in bisher nie gezeigtem Umfang und erweckt sie so zum Leben. Der ANTIFA-Film ist kein blosser Rückblick, sondern eine Aufforderung zur kritischen Reflexion über die Kraft des Widerstands gegen den aufkeimenden Neofaschismus.

Parallel dazu:
findet nicht weit vom Trixxter im Bi Nuu (U-Bhf. Schlesiches Tor) das Tourkonzert von PLH statt. PLH aus Bremen macht stabilen feministischen und antifaschistischen Rap und bei unserem Solitresen kann für das Konzert zusammen vorgeglüht werden. Wir hören feministischen Rap, kippen Solischnäpse und gehen zusammen zum PLH-Konzert (Beginn 20:00 Uhr). Wer Bock auf den Antifa-Film hat bleibt im Trixxter.

Die Einnahmen des Abends kommen der Antifa-Arbeit in Ostberlin zu Gute.

Did you know that Brontosaurus lived 80-90 million years before Tyrannosaurus were walking on Earth? Interestingly enough T-rex went extinct in the late Maastrichtian (!) age, which makes them closer to human time on Earth than to the Bronto one. In my head slow tempos plus down-tuned guitar makes for the soundrtack of the devastation of dinousaurs life. Inevitable extinction of mankind is bound to happen with some punk puking the anarchic lyrics into the microphone in the background. And for day to day life? Well, in crust we trust I guess.

Vorst in de Grond 2026: Castillo, Waterschade, Robber, Krime & Homunculoid

Zolang er een ongekozen monarch op het pluche zit, is Minor Operation Bookings genoodzaakt om Vorst In De Grond Fest te organiseren. Want waar moeten alle koningshaters anders heen om zich het licht zo hard uit de ogen te feesten dat ze de hele Koningsdag-onzin gewoon doorslapen? Dus ook dit jaar trekken we op Koningsnacht, zondag 26 april, weer een blik open met boze punk-, Oi!-, hardcore- en powerviolence-herrie.

Castillo

All the way from Los Angeles komt Castillo met rauwe maar melodieuze Oi! die met één beuk alle pakjes boter indeukt. Wat begon als een covid-project met twee leden is inmiddels uitgegroeid tot een goed geoliede oorlogsmachine.

Waterschade

Waterschade is ondertussen niet meer weg te denken uit het Nederlandse punklandschap. Hun woede over een maatschappij gebouwd op uitbuiting, kapitalisme, racisme en patriarchaat gieten ze in retestrakke songs en een vlammende liveshow.

Robber

Is het hardcore? Is het Oi!? Is het rock ’n’ roll? Wat de fuck maakt het uit, als het maar hard is. Met leden van Traumatizer, OUST en Frontsector weet je in ieder geval wat voor (vega) vlees je in de kuip hebt. Dat wordt een kwaliteitshap.

Krime

Dit Nijmeegse collectief met leden uit Citizens Patrol en Bratpack serveert pakkende hardcorepunk met melodieuze hooks en een woest politieke lading. Vooral bekend van hun hit: Stadioncrust.

Homunculoid

De avond wordt geopend door dit jonge powerviolence-trio dat in korte tijd een reputatie heeft opgebouwd voor herrie maken op de gekste plekken. Zo speelden ze onlangs nog op het toilet bij Flinty’s. Bereid je voor om de stront uit je oren geblazen te krijgen.

Choose Love

De punkrock-fundraisers van Minor Operation Donations zijn er ook weer bij om geld op te halen voor Choose Love, de internationale organisatie die humanitaire hulp biedt aan vluchtelingen. Ze verkopen gedoneerde subculturele parafernalia; jij bepaalt zelf wat je betaalt en iedere cent gaat naar het goede doel. Sinds hun oprichting in 2018 haalden ze al meer dan €50.000 op. PUNK = LIEFDE.

Since their formation in 2014, the band has been playing shows all over Europe and working on perfecting their unique sound, which combines influences from bands like Go It Alone, Bane, Modern Life is War, and Carry On.

Cold Grip

Emerging from the hardcore underground of Weert, Cold Grip has been delivering raw, unfiltered metallic hardcore since 2022. Blending crushing riffs, aggressive breakdowns, and emotionally charged lyrics, the band channels themes of fear, loss, self-discovery, and existential struggle into their relentless sound.

In the wake of some unsure times due to the serious illness of the guitarist, post doom band Gavran returns with “The One Who Propels” as follow up to their emotive dunk!records released predecessor “Indistinct Beacon”. The band now returns as a 4-piece and worked with Marius Prins (Throwing Bricks) and Tim de Gieter (Amenra, Doodseskader,..), resulting in a massive wall of sound. Thistle Sifter is the cinematic post-rock project of English musician Pete Barnes (Utrecht, NL). Catapulted into disarray following a serious cycling accident in November 2020, Thistle Sifter became a platform for Barnes to express his personal struggles and emotions, transporting listeners into an ethereal world of serene post-rock, spacey synth ambience, evolving soundscapes & lo-fi folk.

In dat jaar kwam Sheer Terror van de grond om New York hardcore nog een stuk lomper te maken, mede dankzij de bulderstrot van Paul Bearer. Wars van geldende normen baande Sheer Terror zijn eigen pad met een geluid dat even zwaar en rauw was als de omgeving in die tijd. Die unieke stijl heeft talloze bands stevig beïnvloed, van Merauder tot Hatebreed. Desondanks is Sheer Terror nooit echt de cultstatus ontgroeid, maar dat zal de ware liefhebbers een rotzorg zijn. Hun shows in Baroeg (1993, 1995, 1998, 2015, 2018) waren al bijzonder. Vorig jaar in De Beuk was eveneens een prachtdag. Die show was stijf uitverkocht, gelukkig kan in de nieuwe Baroeg iedereen erbij zijn.

Met de knaller ‘Drenthe Godverdomme’ laat Skroetbalg er geen misverstand over bestaan; ze rammen er op los in hun eigen streektaal. Zo ontstaat een fraai staaltje Drents-Neder-Saksische punkrock & roll zonder fratsen. Daarbij zijn titels als ‘Stompen In De Kroeg’ en ‘Hol Oen Bek’ voor iedereen te begrijpen, dus kom maar op met die lompe handel. Skroetbalg is de evenknie van Tina Trucker, tenminste, als ze een vierkoppige rauwebonkenrandgroep uit het Oosten zou zijn die helemaal lijp is van Motörhead en ‘Ponypark’ kut vindt.

Friesland was het laatste Nederlandse gebied dat in de middeleeuwen werd gekerstend, na honderden jaren verwoed verzet van de heidenen tegen het christendom. Zet die onbuigzaamheid om in hedendaagse hardcore en je krijgt Lies! Een sonische stomp in je maag die Metal Trenches omschreef als “Supremely pissed off metallic hardcore fury.” Daar is geen woord van gelogen.

‘Make hardcore punk again’ is de veelzeggende strijdkreet van Megalomaniacs. Qua stijl grijpen ze daarom terug op de vroege core uit de tijd dat de punkmentaliteit nog welig tierde in de scene en teksten daadwerkelijk wat te melden hadden. Denk aan early Crumbsuckers en Negative Approach met een extra maniakale aanpak.

Deze Angles Morts is níét het jazzkwartet uit Marseille maar een vijftal Rotterdamse herrieschoppers. Dat doen ze door brute hardcore in de death metal te trappen. Bas Rotten hails from Portugal and have been active for quite a bit. Saw them live a few days back in them days I was still living in Portugal. So happy I can offer them a stage on their European tour!
I always find it hard to describe them since they do not really conform into any musical box. They are tight, fast and full of energy. They describe themselves as ‘crossover blästbeat’ and I guess that fits them pretty well! THE COVIDS

Rauwe, aanstekelijke punk ’n roll uit Amsterdam, geboren in de eerste lockdown en met trots vernoemd naar de ellende waar ze uit voortkwamen. Shows werden tot dertien keer uitgesteld, maar in het najaar van 2021 knalden ze alsnog het podium op: hard, zweterig en zonder rem.

Hun sound schuurt ergens tussen ’77-punk, melodieuze herrie en ongepolijste energie. Frontman Mehdi dendert eroverheen met bezeten charisma, strak opgejaagd door het sloopwerk van Sid (drums), snijdende riffs van Paul en ronkende baslijnen van Bruno.

In razend tempo ramde de band zich door de Nederlandse underground en festivals, met uitstapjes naar Duitsland, Frankrijk, Spanje en het VK. Meerdere EP’s, twee vinylsingles en inmiddels twee albums op Wap Shoo Wap Records staan op hun naam.

FuckFuckFuck

De Amsterdamse band FuckFuckFuck maakt snoeiharde punk. Met hun optredens, die heuse live experiences zijn, hebben ze al een flinke reputatie opgebouwd tijdens voorprogramma’s van o.a. The Black Lips, Dirty Fences en ZZZ. De band bestaat uit Hugo, Jits, Joris en Colin, ook wel bekend van het Skatecafe in Amsterdam-Noord.

Sick Shooters

Deze Utrechters met leden van punkbands zoals NO BRAINS, SPURN en ULTRAGOBLIN zijn de nieuwste aanwinst voor de Nederlandse rock ’n roll. Denk aan Johnny Thunders & The Heartbreakers met een vleugje garage-rock. Oorwurmen gegarandeerd!

Rotzorg

Terwijl de Bierprijzen stijgen, Nick en Simon nogsteeds geen comeback gemaakt hebben en de Geopolitiek op volle touren het einde van de Wereld
aan het veroorzaken is knalt Rotzorg gewoon vrolijk door. De nummers variëren van regelrechte aanvallen op de hedendaagse politiek tot meezingers over het gaan naar de kroeg. Oftewel je favoriete Nederpunkband.

Zoekhetuitman

ZOEKHETUITMAN is een punkband uit Dordrecht die elke plek sloopt waar ze spelen. De punkers spelen strakke nummers met teksten over hun afkeer tegen het kapitalisme, de monarchie en Chemours. In 2023 won ZOEKHETUITMAN de Grote Prijs van Dordt. Verwacht een energieke show, waar je met een piep in je oren en een vuist in de lucht weer van vertrekt.

Kinderleed

Kinderleed is een vierkoppige Nederpunkband, opgericht in Harderwijk. Ruig, energiek en met een randje gekkigheid. Op deze muziek kun je dansen, springen en helemaal losgaan. Alles wat je in de speeltuin niet kan. Met herkenbare thema’s, zoals herinneringen aan de basisschool of actuele onderwerpen zoals overmoedige mannen, belooft het een echt (kinder)feestje te worden! Neem je danskleding mee, maar we verklappen nog niet wat we precies gaan doen.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. Taking up arms against a wave of authoritarianism and despair, North Carolina’s premier hardcore band, Catharsis, has recorded a new full-length album, „Hope Against Hope.“

This record picks up where their last material left off, continuing to push the envelope for what hardcore can do. Catharsis don’t retread the ground they broke on their previous albums, but press forward into ever more abrasive and dynamic territory. Politically, they remain uncompromisingly radical in their lives as well as lyrics. This is not a band that has slowed down, toned down, or mellowed out.

Sticking to their roots in the do-it-yourself underground, they are releasing the album through CrimethInc. in the United States, Refuse in Europe, and No Gods No Masters in South America. The band recorded the drums with Benny Grotto at Mad Oak Studios and tracked the rest themselves. For the backing vocals, Catharsis tapped the vocalists of some of their favourite hardcore bands: Poland’s Next Victim, Brazil’s Point of No Return, and North Carolina’s own Scarecrow and Vittna. Mixed by Kurt Ballou at God City Studio and mastered by Scott Crouse, „Hope Against Hope“ is as explosive as our times.

Twenty-four years have passed since Catharsis released their last record, the split LP featuring “Arsonist’s Prayer,” though they did complete another song from that session for their discography in 2012. But they have been playing regularly together since 2013, adding Jimmy Chang (of Undying and Sect), who left the band in 1995, to the line-up that recorded the “Passion” LP. It was high time to record another album, making the most of material that has come together across two decades. In fact, Catharsis has never sounded better.

“Hope Against Hope” is an assault on a self-destructing society and a beacon of inspiration for all who are determined to survive.

Brigandage (U.K.) & Rubber Gun (N.L) 80's punk rock

BRIGANDAGE began as a twinkle in Michelle’s eye the moment she saw Johnny Rotten step onto stage at the 100 Club. Finally in 1981 Brigandage took shape to remind people of the glory, colour and inclusiveness of 1976!

Due to a concatenation of events and timing within 9 months Brigandage was on the front cover of the N.M.E., doing a Peel session and supporting the likes of Sex Gang Children which in an incredible piece of luck and twist of fate Terry Macleay, founding member of Sex Gang Children, is now Brigandage bassist! Unfortunately like many bands Brigandage imploded before it could really start, so Michelle had to start all over again and went underground into the anarchist punk scene.

A live at the Marquee cassette album F.Y.M. was released mid 80’s in true D.I.Y. style but time flies as they say and Brigandage were asked to play Rebellion, the famous punk rock festival in 2024. Suddenly Brigandage had risen once more like a punk rock phoenix, is gigging again and about to return to Europe after all these years to play with dear friends Rubber Gun, promoting their soon to be released new album “Half Moon Rising.

In a punk-infested, squatted little neighbourhood in the beautiful historic city of Zutphen, two residents kicked it off. The band’s fame stretched deep into Germany, where Rubber Gun had a loyal fan base. Top notch support.

The German punk label Teenage Rebel featured two of Rubber Gun’s songs on a collection album. A couple of years later, two fans financed the recordings of Rubber Gun’s first and only complete album of their own. ‘Grease Up!’ finally saw the light of day several years later and is now available on the ubiquitous Spotify.

In the early nineties, the band fell apart. Everyone went their own way. Some members continued to play, but only as a fun side project.

Egged on by friends in the London-based band Brigandage, Rubber Gun has now decided to return to their picks and sticks and take their old material back on stage. You can’t call it a midlife crisis, those days are already in the past. They’re just raring to give it another go!

Rubber Gun is ready to take to the stage alongside Brigandage at the end of May. Brigandage will be travelling the Netherlands from Thursday May 28th till Saturday May 30st.
