De grondoorzaak echter, was gesleep met dieren. Aziatische salamanders dragen #bsal maar zijn resistent. Via dierhandel zijn de schimmels naar Nederland gebracht. Je zou dit kunnen reguleren maar in Nederland moet alles buigen voor de ideologie van de #vrijemarkt en dus gebeurt dat niet. Als jij een exotische salamander in je terrarium wil, dan koop je er gewoon een. Een Nederlandse salamander kun je niet kopen, overigens. Die zijn beschermd. Je zou het kunnen zien als een restje kolonialisme.

Toen de laatste populatie in Nederland in het #bunderbos in elkaar klapte duurde het een paar jaar voor de precieze oorzaak - een schimmelinfectie #bsal - ontdekt was.

Hier noch ein Hinweis für unsere Amphibienfreunde.
Aktuell sind unsere #Feuersalamander aktiv zum Absetzen der ersten Larven.Leider finden sich dabei auch immer wieder tote Weibchen (links im Bild).
Das muss nicht gleich eine Seuche sein, aber wer verstorbene Tiere findet, wenn möglich in eine Kunststofftüte verpacken, einfrieren und beim Umweltamt des entsprechenden Bundeslandes nachfragen ob es dazu eine Untersuchung gibt.
Warum? Es gibt teils #Monitoring für #Bsal oder #Herpes

Verhinderung des Aussterbens des Feuersalamanders (Petition NRW)
Der Feuersalamander ist zwar nach dem Bundesnaturschutzgesetze (BNatSchG) geschützt, seine Art gilt jedoch nicht als planungsrelevant. Somit kann sein Lebensraum überplant werden, denn der Feuersalamander ist nicht im Anhang IV der Fauna-Flora-Habitat-Richtlinie gelistet.
