🌎 Southern California: Conservation teams are continuing releases of endangered southern mountain yellow-legged frogs into suitable habitat. The latest releases of large numbers show success from learnings about the species needs.

🐸 Declines started in the 1950s due to introduction of non-native trout, habitat loss, climate change and impacts of invasive species. Reintroduction programs required years of captive breeding, habitat management, monitoring, and collaboration among scientists and wildlife agencies.

🌱 This is an example of successful species recovery resulting from two separate but critical efforts: habitat protection and long-term population management.
