Nach 5 plattgefahrenen Salamandern bin ich nun auch 1 lebenden Exemplar begegnet. Niedliches Kerlchen. Ich hab es vom Trampelpfad/Reitweg weggesetzt und hoffe, dass er nicht der letzte Überlebende des Reifenmassakers ist.

🥾 We hiked past a water impoundment that is usually disruptive to a mountaintop environment, but this one was full of salamanders!
🦎 These amphibians prefer cold, clean, running water as in pristine streams. This pond had to be relatively undisturbed.

I think I felt like drawing more salamanders cuz they're pretty neat and I think I had only drawn, like, one or two by this point. I guess I was also in a pregnancy art mood soooooooo I drew her pregnant, lol. enjoy(despite the title I don't think this is actually a newt, I don't even remember what I used for reference but I think it was just some generic salamander photo, but I like how this title sounds and it's close enough!)

Also saw one adult red-spotted newt out there! Activity should peak early next week with warmer, rainy days and nights.
