A user even sent us a picture! They hooked their trusty breadbin (released in 1982!) up to the net, booted Contiki OS, and navigated to FrogFind.

So, the new #Commodore machine is exciting to me, especially since I was kicking myself for not buying a "The C64 (maxi)" while they were for sale.

Only thing is... man, the #breadbin is iconic, but not pleasant, ergonomically. I really need wrist support. XD

Also, I'm guessing it only has legacy hookups, so I'd need some kind of video adapter.

Until now I do not own any storage system whatsoever for my Commodore C64 breadbin.

I am looking into several solutions like the SD2IEC (several) combined with a Final Cartridge III+ cartridge or an EPYX FASTLOAD cartridge.

The perfect yet pricy (for me) solution would be the Ultimate 1541 II-L cartridge.

Another one could be the Pi1541 but I haven't yet found any offer that can sell me the complete thing with the case ...

It has arrived!

My new old C64 is back in my possession. It is the model I owned as a kid in 1982/83. With a serial number towards the 400.000th built in Western Germany. It has the keyboard of the predecessor, the VIC-20.

Now I need two things next:

- a new PSU to power up the beast
- the Ultimate 1541 IIL expansion with lots of good and modern stuff on it

I'm looking forward to diving back into everything C64 :-) ...

Ich habe nun einen gebrauchten (natürlich!) C64 mit genau dieser VIC-20-Tastatur gefunden und hoffe, diesen bekommen zu können. Das Gerät befindet sich in einem guten, bedenkt man das Alter, sogar sehr guten Zustand.

Ich bekomme neue Netzteile, passende Videokabel und sogar eine mechanische Tastatur für den guten alten Commodore C64. Den besten Computer der Welt! Es gibt noch immer eine riesige Community, die auch weiterhin Spiele, Anwendungen, Zubehör etc. pp. entwickelt und den C64 nicht nur am Leben hält, sondern diesen z. B. via WLAN und USB mit moderner Hardware sowie dem Internet verbindet. Es gibt Webseiten für den C64!

This was a retrobrite failure, trying to fight the age yellowing with peroxide and sun.(sounds like an #80s beach scene) So I broke out the rattle cans and made it a golden edition #Commodore64. I loved the paint job so much I made it my daily driver #64. #Commodore #breadbin

Had an oopsie while #Retrobrite a #Commodore64 case so I solved it by spray painting it gold and making it an anniversary edition. Some find it tacky, but I love gold colored micro computers. #8Bit #breadbin
