I wonder should it be considered a serious breach of honesty in the #retrocomputing community to fail to report previous retrobrighting attempts, when selling on a piece of equipment. Buyers shouldn't have to ask.

I'd certainly want to know. For me, it could be make or break for the sale.

Taking advantage of the sun and trying my hand at RetroBriting.
I couldn’t seem to avoid streaking with cling wrap (plus, I fucking hate hate hate cling wrap), so I’m just babysitting these, and occasionally re-applying the cream and sometimes just wetting it down with a brush and water to smear it around.
We’ll see. Some of these were really bad, and I’m starting to see some improvement.
I had no luck with the sunlight only technique, but maybe it’ll help even out some of the blotches & streaks after I wipe these down.
I tried to remove the bezel from the monitor, but the way it’s mated to the CRT made it a high risk, low reward proposition.

First I decided against retrobriting the Commodore 128 case. Then I decided against that again. Now it's done, and I'm glad I did. The 128 looks sharp now, methinks. Weird how this thing is sleek and massive at the same time #commodore #commodore128 #retrocomputing #retrobrite

#Macintosh SE/30 ready to go. Clean with #BlueSCSI, #retrobrite, and recap.

Used the brush on technique with SalonCare 30 Volume Creme Developer. Requires brushing a bit more on every 15 minutes to prevent streaking for about 90 minutes in the sun.

I usually use the clear formula immersion technique and that takes several days. This is obviously quicker and I had time to baby sit it.

Built a #retrobrite chamber for some old Mac parts. Added some 20% H2O2.

This machine got so yellowed, it landed at an almost attractive and period appropriate tan. (Not mine, seen on FB Marketplace)

I had the ugliest, brownest SNES I'd ever seen, and (repeated) retrobrite attempts have drastically improved it, but it's still going to annoy me that it continues to have two tones.

The controller came out great though.

Had an oopsie while #Retrobrite a #Commodore64 case so I solved it by spray painting it gold and making it an anniversary edition. Some find it tacky, but I love gold colored micro computers. #8Bit #breadbin
