I’ve been seeing too much of demarcative politics on Fedi recently, and it’s made me feel anxious… so I’m taking refuge with blobcats! With blobcats, there is no stress, there is no struggle, there is no worry; there is only :gutkato:.
Let’s all unite our :gutkato: against :gutkato_kolereta: to save the :gutkato: from :gutkato_morta: and have more :gutkato: in the :gutkato:! Now is the time to :gutkato:!

We would like to remind fedizens to be kind to one another and be cautious. There seems to be an epidemic of people who steal and pirate emotes from other instances.
Admins have been reporting upwards of 2MB worth of emotes being stolen and spread illegally throughout the #fediverse.
A common example are #blobcats. Originating from blob.cat these emotes are being used on other instances without consent! Spawning illegal forks such as blobs and blobfoxes.
If you see something like it. Report it to your local admin who will forward it to the cyberpolice

I think there’s something sinister going on in this part of the Fediverse. I have been closing an eye to it, trying to ignore it, pretending like everything is in perfect order… but it comes back to haunt me every now and then. I don’t think I can remain silent any longer, standing by what may very well be a crime against felinity. Usually, I’ve been showing everyone my jolly mood like this:

Where’d a cat get hands?! Why is this one called ‘blobcatgiggle’ and the normal-looking one is ‘blobcatgiggle2’? Dear fedizens, I’m afraid what we see here above is a failed experiment; the work of a madman who’s abandoned ethics in his pursuit of purrfection. Yes, purrfection may be attained in time, but at what cost? Not to mention, if the first blobcat is the precursor, and has a human hand, that raises a question burning in an even greater blaze…

I normally use the blobcat emoji set, but for beverages, I prefer the meow emoji set. On my instance, the sets are almost identical, but the blobcat set has never been a reliable source of beverages. The current state of blobcats is:

The coffee blobcat has its tongue out, while the tea blobcat is about to sip a brown liquid. It used to be that both of them were about to sip a brown liquid. Now consider the current state of meows:
Meow coffee: :meowcoffee: Meow tea: :meowtea:
Both of them have their eyes open (unlike those of the blobcat set) and are about to sip a liquid. In this case, coffee is brown (as it tends to be) and tea is green (so different from coffee’s usual depiction).
The meow set makes it easy to tell coffee apart from tea just by looking at the picture, while still being consistent. After all, drinkers of coffee and drinkers of tea may have different preferences, but are both very refined and very much alike.
