So I thought this was a Shimano Altus shifter, because the Kombi spec sheet lists two (https://yubabikes.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/KOMBI_TechSpecs.pdf) and it doesn't look like the other one (an S-Ride). But after taking it off, it looks different from BOTH of those and has no brand markings. Now I'm realizing that Microshift might actually be the brand, not just some dumb slogan? #BikeNerdStuff
The new Shimano Altus shifter is much smoother/clickier

So it's been a little while now. How are people liking their #Tongsheng TSDZ8s? And their #Toseven DM02s? I'd love to know how they're holding up to abuse after 1+ year.

I have 3 #CargoBikes, and each one has a nice solid kid-capable kickstand with rubber chair tips on the end. Of course, each one also takes a different-sized chair tip. As this is essentially a consumable part (the rubber wears down over time), I have to have a supply of 3 different sized chair tips: 3/4" , 1", and 1-1/8". 🥴

This is a neat little module that I just ordered. https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256804112798600.html
Hooks into bafang BBS* display wiring to pull proper power for head/tail lights, but also use the existing crappy 6V/.5A headlight wire to allow turning lights on/off via bafang display.
I'm gonna see if I can wire up my existing older dynamo headlight (B&M Luxos B). I also have a B&M toplight rear light, but I'm guessing I'd be better off with a general ebike rear light w/ separate brake light wire. #BikeNerdStuff

This guy's mannerisms are hilarious. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jb3v5Y0Q2l0
(Maybe I find it so funny because it reminds me of people I knew in Ecuador?)

I sold the Luna Wolf 52V battery some time ago to a very happy person, so I was able to at least standardize on 48V batteries. But with this purchase, I'll be able to standardize on the same form factor (Hailong G56/Hailong-1 size, which is only 90mm tall) and base. Having two batteries that I can swap among three cargo bikes will be really nice. And then I can either sell or keep the Hailong G70 battery as a backup (just swap the base, everything's using XT90 connectors). #BikeNerdStuff

I thought the new cargo bike was geared at a really low gear, but now I realize that the #Nuvinci N330 hub is broken. It's currently shifted to underdrive. I can use the shifter to physically move the interface all the way around to overdrive, it doesn't appear to change the hub output. The wheel still rotates just around 1.35 rotations for every full rotation of the cranks. #BikeNerdStuff

Here's what the #Tongsheng #TSDZ2 install ends up looking like on my #Cetma #Margo #CargoBike. I haven't cleaned up the zip ties yet because the battery is only temporary (I'm going to get a smaller one that fits better).
Instead of the standard anchor bracket, I screwed a chain tensioner into that anchor bolt hole (https://cycles.eco/collections/tsdz2-accessories-parts/products/chain-guide-for-tsdz2?variant=) because eccentric bottom bracket + chainstay. There's some foam protecting the frame in case the motor moves.

Oh, well *there's* your problem..

Mmm, yeah. I probably should've replaced this (more than a decade old!) chainring some time ago. Just look at those shark fins.
