Mon #vélo #bafang s’éteint dès que le moteur s’enclenche. J’ai remplacé le contrôleur (qui avait un peu vécu) mais toujours pas ça.
Une idée pour tester si c’est la batterie sans en acheter une nouvelle ? Est-ce que bricoler un adaptateur et brancher le chargeur (output 54.6V) sur le moteur (qui a une prise XT60) fonctionnerait ? 🤔 🚲 -

Die Teile für mein mein altes #ebike wurden scheinbar speziell dafür zusammengestrickt / hergestellt / zusammengekauft, sah super aus, war aber nicht lange wartbar. Sogar die Teilenummer des Motors, die der Fahrradhersteller angibt, gibt es bei #Bafang nicht. Vermutlich ist ein Motor aus dem Programm baugleich, aber das konnte ich nicht ermitteln. Der Akku stammt von der cycleunion und wurde scheinbar nur in genau zwei Rädern verbaut, eines von Rabeneick & ein vollkommen baugleiches von Ortler.

@julescelt01 I installed a #Bafang #BBS02 mid-drive kit from #LunaCycle a couple years ago on a beach cruiser, and I've been very happy with it. It was super easy, and the 52v battery makes tons of power. I recommend getting the shift sensor which cuts the power when you shift gears.

Major service and upgrades to my 14.5 year old #Bullitt #cargobike as I prepare to pass it on to our sons.
Includes upgrading it to be an #eBike using a #Bafang bottom bracket motor. Will be road legal so no throttle and speed limited.
New #schwalbe Marathon Plus Tour rear tyre. New eBike powered front and rear lights (keeping the #Schmidt #dynamo front light).
Includes a 20AH 48V battery so range should be good.
First time I've removed the cargo box in years (for easier access). -

Can I change a Bafang display for another Bafang display of the same model without having to reprogram the display/anything?Partners ebikes display has a crack in it and i have a factory shipped display they guaranteed to work but im scared I'd lock out the bike 🫠

#EBike/electronics Q: I got a light control module (LCM) for a #bafang #bbs02 that ties into the main harness and provides 2 wires for a rear light (which works with a wide variety of light voltages, but I'm using it at 6V), and a single wire for a brake light trigger. The voltage on the LCM brake trigger wire sits at 1.56V, & jumps to 3.3V when you depress a brake lever.
My rear light has 2 wires (+/-) for the brake light trigger. I connect positive to LCM’s brake trigger wire, & get nothing..

My second TSDZ2 motor burned out this week :( it only had 600 mi on it after about 9 months of use. Hoping I can salvage some of the components & find a Bafang motor to replace it with. Of course this happened in February so I get to take it apart outside in the cold, rain, & snow. Ugh. #bikeTooter #CargoBike #ebike #TSDZ2 #bafang

Thinking about buying an e-bike?
Firstly, great! Fantastic!
But! Consider this 👇. Brands like Engwe make those cool-looking fat bikes with "250W" motors (that everybody knows you can unlock to 500W or more in a 10 second hack). But! Something as simple as a puncture on your rear tyre may make your bike off the road for weeks or even permanently.
Convert a standard bike yourself or with help. Use a mid-drive motor.

Gestern noch frohlockt, das ich für den Motor meinen E-Bikes den Controller bei der #Panne nicht tauschen brauchte. Ich habe das Ding wieder zurück an den Händler geschickt.
Heute extra früh aus Kassel raus damit ich vor der Mittagshitze im Wald bin - ich sollte dort aber nie ankommen, das genau dieser Controller jetzt ausgefallen ist - schweißüberströmt mit Muskelkraft die 7 Kilometer zum Campingplatz zurück geradelt. Today another ❤️ for DIY Bafang mid-drive e-bike conversions.
For fun I bought the cheapest foldable bike from Amazon (*many* flaws but €190) and put a 750W #Bafang motor in it. It was, indeed, fun, but also downright dangerous (poor brakes, etc.).
I just reprogrammed the motor with a special USB cable and my laptop to halve the power. The bike will do *many* trips to the shops on that battery now!
Next: a last-year's model Decathlon bike for touring.

Yesterday I learned that all recent #Bafang motors and controllers for ebikes use #CANbus for communication. Their #BESST configuration tool https://bafang-e.com/en/oem-area/service/besst/ is an electron app which conveniently includes source maps, so I was able to reconstruct the original #Vuejs source code. My #ebike display (a #bafang 500C) displays the Watts that the motor is pulling. As I'm biking along, I like to mentally compare it to old-style incandescent light bulbs. Like, when I'm at PAS level 1 and it's pulling 40W, I'm thinking, "Sipping about half a light bulb from the battery". Level 1 maxes out around 80W; just over a 75W bulb (although I usually had 60W bulbs, so that's my conversion base). Or I'll be at PAS 3 using 230W and think, "wow, almost 4 light bulbs to get up this hill!"

I do have a gear shift sensor for the motor that briefly turns off motor power when I shift. I've heard mixed reviews about the #Alfine 8 - people saying they've ridden it thousands of km with #bafang mid-drive motors, others saying they killed it. But one of the cargo bikes I bought has a bafang mid-drive (#BBSHD, so more power/torque than the #BBS02) and a dead #Enviolo hub (N330, so not the burlier Enviolo Heavy Duty hub that I'd likely get).
Curious to hear from anyone who uses both hubs.
