@TheFuzzStone I had a look at #BeakerBrowser just now and I like it very much.

Though I don't find any people using it _or_ their content being live. Thinking about putting a website on a server and seeing what happens.

I used Beaker Browser back when hypercore was still called dat.

Since the renaming, I've been trying to open every hyper:// url I came across with Beaker Browser and was consistently greeted with a "Site Not Found". It doesn't seem to be able to open dat:// urls either.

Does anybody have a working hyper:// url I can test with?

0) I see that #BeakerBrowser has released version 1.0
1) I download and install Beaker Browser as an app image, pretty cool, I can execute that "without" hassle (i.e. only after manually setting an execute bit)
2) Then I open it up and it presents a fancy little introduction wizard.
3) It shows me the license in a box with a scroll bar.
4) I try to scroll by grabbing the scrollbar with my mouse. The whole window moves.
5) I try to scroll by scrolling on my touchpad. Nothing happens.

Good start.

I feel an honerable mention would be the #beakerbrowser . I would like to know of anyone has gotten it up and running on a lowcost hardwere like the pinephone.
Also think you for introducing me to the term #smallweb. I knew of projects with similar goals to the one you mentiond where we have single tennet web services.

@ploum I studied the topic a bit and found that #dat was harder to grasp. #IPFS is much more documented, it might be a better choice for teaching purpose and all the building blocks (immutability, content-addressing, DHT, etc.) are the same.

Need a good dropbox alternative. Maybe beakerbrowser is the way to go... framadrop looks great, but there is a time limit for storage and I have not tested the sync across devices, which is crucial.
