  6. I hate notarization on #macOS #development so much. Just ready to push an update to my #SecureScuttlebutt client, got the github action building the app for all platforms just to fail on macOS cause Apple changed a license agreement so the CI was failing 403 until I went to their developer portal to agree.

I'm shipping FOSS apps, going through this hops is so absurd.

  15. Poncho Wonky can now remote drive SSB servers. You can import an identity and then set a remote for it. Instead of running it locally by starting a background process when you run it, it will instead just start the client process and connect to it.

That brings Poncho Wonky to parity with Patchfox in terms of identity management.

It only took like five years :3

  20. Am so happy. Today, I succeeded in two important tasks for my Poncho Wonky fork of the #SecureScuttlebutt client Patchwork.

Today, I managed to import an identity from a secret's file (as in keys) and also from a word export (as in list of word mnemonics)

So now Poncho Wonky can restore old identities people had in other devices including moving Manyverse identities into Poncho Wonky.

  29. Just added a tool to help free up disk space used by blobs in Poncho Wonky.

#SecureScuttlebutt keeps moving forward regardless of naysayers.

If you're running Patchwork, you should consider migrating to my fork Poncho Wonky.

  35. Lots of exciting #decentralization protocols and technology out there. Some are not ready for usage, others are not following the paradigm I prefer, I love that we're spoiled for choice.

IMO I still love #SecureScuttlebutt, for me it is still the best offline-first local-first gossip protocol out there. Yes, it has dangerous corners and design issues, but it works and I can build apps with it for my friends.

  40. Hey y'all, for the past month or so I got really interested about the project Secure Scuttlebutt, so after taking the time learn more about it, I thought would be nice to try that in a game.

I don't know much about cryptography, but I tried my best to make it work. There are still a lot of things missing from the original protocol (like secret handshake, etc)

  41. The other day Mrs List and I were talking about when the kiddos should start having their own phones. We didn't really come to a conclusion besides "Not yet, but soon enough to upset some of the other parents we've encountered."

I kind of wish I had the resources to make a dedicated @pzp or #SecureScuttlebutt device (maybe isolated from the main SSB network) and give one each to the kiddos and their friends.
