A question for #english #language nerds:
I need a word that is synonyms with "empty", but it doesn't imply that something is missing. Not "empty" as "not filled", but "empty" as "pure". "empty" without a negative connotation. In Bulgarian it's "пуст".
This is the word we use for "desert" -- the word "desert" is also inappropriate, as it implies something was there and then went away.
This is also the word that you would use when speaking of emptiness in Zen Buddhism.

I have migrated from a popular mastodon instanced to a self hosted gotosocial instance. Gotosocial is great and it works well. But one thing I am missing is discovery. It seems that self hosted single user instance limits discovery. I am missing out on finding new awesome people through the feed.
Do others who have tried this type of setup have any tips?

My wife's getting a new wheelchair that doesn't collapse and we're lucky enough to be financially stable, so it's time to start figuring out what the new car will look like to accomodate. She can walk for limited distances, so we just need enough cargo space.
Anyone here have any experience with the Not A Wheelchair and a plug in hybrid vehicle it fits in? (Living in a townhouse, no place to set up a charging station for full electric)

On @CoMaps, I see buoys marked on a lake. They are categorized as "lateral buoy" when I edit them. Today I went skating on said lake (it's all frozen, wonderful!) and went by a lateral buoy that's not on #OpenStreetMap yet. Trying to add it from CoMaps, I couldn't find the "lateral buoy" category in the long list of categories under "add a place to OSM". And my hands got cold. So I simply saved the coordinates and decided to add it later from the OSM website. Now trying to do that, but the website doesn't even show the other buoys that CoMaps shows me... so I am confused. If any #OSM contributor reads this and knows how to add such item to the map, I'd be happy to learn.

The past few months I've been burning out creating a promo plan for our upcoming album (another thing we went DIY on instead of outsourcing).
The thing is, I have no real knowledge or experience on this matter. Fun!
We are currently at the stage where we are reaching out to reviewers. So, I'd like to ask the fedi for your input:
Do you know any music journalists/bloggers/reviewers who would be interested in a prog metal album? If so, would you be comfortable sharing their contact details or putting a word in?
I already have a sizeable list, so I'm looking for more personal and/or niche contacts, if they exist.

How to hand out charms?
Last time I used the faux velvet bag, but I'll admit there was a lot of hesitation when people were asked to reach into a long, thin bag from a stranger with no easy way to see inside.
Before I've used an open top box. Seems to make people feel better about the reach, but I'm preselecting the top row so it's not a truly random grab!
Looking at a paper bag, it's too easy to see and pick any given charm so that doesn't feel as random!
