Folks, I’ve made an #unboxing video!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hKvDsSiCoXc
In the box? Was the newly released Blu-ray #boxset of #classic #DoctorWho’s seventh season.
I’ll encourage younger fans to watch the season: as it’s very different.

The similarity between the endings of series 10 of Grange Hill (Zammo's final appearance) and of Ingmar Bergman's "The Seventh Seal" is striking.

Grange Hill could sometimes be ahead of the times, as this scene from 1987 shows.

Interesting archive TV repeat on Talking Pictures TV in the UK tonight - "The Wimbledon Poisoner" from 1994 starring Robert Lindsay and Alison Steadman. As far as I can see its not been repeated by the BBC since the mid-90s. In two parts, today and tomorrow.

A vague sense of existential angst sweeps through the corridors of #GrangeHill

Great charity shop find - the novel of 1975 kids drama “Striker” by Kenneth Cope (yes, that one) - if I recall correctly another example of pre-Grange Hill gritty drama for children.
The lead character lived in a caravan with his Dad, who I seem to remember was a former professional footballer who lost his career through injury.

Made a start on The Foryste Saga. I think it survives as original video. One of the characters is called Uncle Roger, which made me chuckle. Fuiyoh! #UncleRoger #TheForsyteSaga #ArchiveTV

My god, look at this roll call of mostly defunct retail outlets where you could by your 3D glasses!

For more information on the complete technological dead end that was the BBC's 3D TV week, here's the Tomorrow's World feature on how it worked. Basically it was 3D, as long as people wandered around in circles.

CW: Charity Shop / Kringloopwinkel loot
€4 for all these in the charity shop! All Dutch editions, which means OG soundtracks but the Dutch subs come on automatically - although you can just turn them off if you want! (I won't, I'm trying to improve my Dutch!)
I'm not sure if that Tommy Cooper set is available at all in the UK. I've never seen any of these before, or if I have I was very young.
FS is something I've been meaning to see for years. Lots of Who people. #CharityShop #DVDs #ArchiveTV

An even odder Sparks / Crackerjack crossover than was seen on the episode BBC4 repeated at the weekend - here's Peter Glaze and Don Maclean doing "Something for the Girl With Everything" from "Propaganda"

I'm back again with another selection of archive TV goodies on YouTube.
This week: the first rule of Bridge Club, a channel debut for a clip from Southern, some cracking Ceefax tunes, John Craven's Newsround and a clip from 1983's Children in Need
If all this sounds tantalising then head on over to https://www.youtube.com/@NeilMiles and dig in!

A fabulous photo to start Monday - Richard Briers presenting the prize in a fancy dress competition to a child dressed as The Yellow Pages.
This 3 year old was no fool as presumably he knew Briers was at that point the voice of Busby in the British Telecom ads.
"He not only handed prizes to the winners at Milton-under-Wychwood but gave £1 notes from his own pocket to others he thought deserved recognition."
