"Good weather." "Great weather." "Really good weather."
All while the weather warnings are for dangers in bathing areas, heat stress, uncomfortable nights, hose pipe bans, water cuts in Kildare and Dublin. This heatwave is linked to climate change. People have already died in Ireland, and are dying across Europe.

Thank you to everyone who voted in the above important poll. I can say that Met Éireann's forecast chart has been updated, and now shows parts of today as having a "<5%" chance of rain in Dublin today - and we all know that this means it will DEFINITELY rain today.

@jwildeboer I'm trying out hyper-local hashtags, for Ireland-based fedi-peeps.
Largely, this involves using Irish language options, or carrying over those which were used in Other Places.
Examples:
#Rothar - meaning "bicycle," equivalent to #BikeTooter
#Aimsir - meaning "weather," equivalent to #WX and #Weather
#Sneachta - meaning "#snow," something we all get very excited about, when it makes an appearance
#JobFairy - news about job vacancies
#TicketFairy - I have tickets to give away

Shout-out to those businesses around Doyle's Corner in Phibsboro which decided to water their hanging baskets, wash their windows - during some of the coldest days of the past 12 months - and otherwise leave large blobs and streaks of black ice all over the footpaths there.
