Marsha Johnson, along with Sylvia Rivera, founded the Street Transvestite Action Revolutionaries (STAR) in 1970, a New York City organization dedicated to assisting transgender youth experiencing homelessness.

Heute beginnt die #Transgender Awareness Week, kurz auch #TransAwarenessWeek #TAW genannt. Sie dauert vom 13. bis 19. November. Ihr Titel lautet übersetzt: Woche zur Sichtbarmachung von Transgeschlechtlichkeit. In dieser Woche, an die sich der #TransgenderDayOfRememberance (TDoR) am 20. anschließt, gibt es besonders viele Veranstaltungen rund um das Thema Transgeschlechtlichkeit. (1/4)
