Still working out some tracking kinks on all the stations, so it will only get better than this.

Got a nice bump in numbers and so now we watch it for the next 2-3 days to see if that daily dip evens out.
tl;dr Geostationary is not stationary. They have a 23h, 54m 'orbit'.
You need dish tracking to keep the #ACARS / #ADSC data flowing to the site around the clock.

Again, no #ADSB, all #ACARS with some floobydust #ADSC over the ocean and a few #HFDL

UK and USA. Remember, what you see here is NOT #ADSB, its #ACARS (with a few #ADSC ocean).
Currently only using the few #VDL data streams that are feeding my site.
Its critical that everyone with an ACARS station feeds #AirframesIO to build out their map which is coming soon

Changed the C-Band feed around just now and got a significant jump in signal strength. I'd say over 6db.
I have a different scalar ring/choke on order. Be interesting to compare it with this ugly setup when it arrives in a few weeks.

#adsc coverage right now. Its like #adsb but for ocean coverage.
#satcom for the win.
At the moment feeding #adsbexchange but open to dialog. (Fair warning, its complicated).

@cosmos4u Im active on both because X is still by far and away the best platform for #avgeeks and #adsb and #adsc and #acars and #aircraft #spotting #tracking and the like.
#Mastodon is getting there, but for this small SIG group, X rocks.

It appears that Alberta Dental Service Corporation (ADSC) ended up paying the #8BASE #ransomware group for the decryptor key & a pledge from the cybercriminals that the data was deleted.

The LNB (antenna) on the C-Band satellite dish has a problem when it gets cold. Its not the crystal, I removed that when I did the GPSDO modification.
There is something else going on.... The quick fix (like, tonight its forecast to be 30F) is just to use a telescope anti-dew heater band wrapped around the LNB.
I put a PID temperature controller on it. Less than 1F swing at the moment.
Lets see how how the #ACARS and #ADSC message rate goes overnight shall we.

Even if you are a regular user of the @ADSBexchange globes map, this might be a new tip.
You can filter to only show just a specific data source.
In this case we are filtering to look at my #ADSC (oceanic) data.

Quick update. Usual insane #ACARS day here. Working with a guy in Ireland on #VHF VDL2 #RTLSDR v3 message logging. Then helped a guy in Ireland about L-Band system handshakes.
Got to do a bunch building the #L-Band #Helix #antenna, but did not finish as a guy I have been helping in Maine get running on data from #Inmarsat #CBand needed some help.
Bottom line, close to a world-first here. #ADSC data from 54w.
We now truly have global coverage from all 4 satellites!

Here is a VIP flight in the air right now.
This was the backup aircraft for the #POTUS flight yesterday.
Its mostly empty today.
Note the signal source, #ADSC means its being tracked via #Inmarsat #satellite and because its east of Hawaii, that means the satellite dish in my backyard is doing the receiving/decoding of the flight data.

I don't run this visualization very often because it makes my browser RAM cry, but here is our ADSC coverage / flight tracking from the past 24 hours.
