Fantasy Fridays: FOR4 The Code of the Harpers
I used to think I knew what the Harpers were and what they were all about.
Turns out I was very wrong. Only took me 33 years.
Well, I try to make up for it now.

Das war AD&D 2nd, und wir hatten ja nix!
Ausser Dinos. Dino Stats so weit das Auge reicht. Und Elfen. Und Kender. Und Minotauren - ich hab mal in Dragonlance einen gespielt.
Die Musik ist von mir, seid gnädig.

@randomwizard 's musings on AD&D had me thinking. I too stand by the idea that 2e was not as bad as it's usually painted, it being 95% mechanically similar to 1e, but sans the edgyiness.
Except for a poorly thought out DMG, I have very few misgivings about AD&D2e compared to, say, BX. If 2e had streamlined stats a la BX, removed S-M/L damage, aligned Thief skills with NWPs , used "soft" level caps (or removed them) I think we could have seen a very different 3e #ttrpg #ADnD2 -
Monstrous Mondays: The Ravenloft Monstrous Compendiums
I have been covering the AD&D 2nd Ed version of Ravenloft all this month. I have also been covering the the Forgotten Realms and currently in the AD&D 2nd Edition era. One thing they both have in common is that a few of the books feature new monsters in AD&D 2nd Monstrous Compendium format. #adnd2 #monsters #ravenloft

Review: Forgotten Realms Adventures
While I have been flirting with AD&D 2nd Ed and Realms for the last few months, it is time to dive in head first with the combination that defined Dungeons & Dragons for many in the early 90s.

This Old Dragon: Issue #146
Been a bit since I have done one of these. Lets head back to June 1989 at the dawn of AD&D 2nd Ed and the 13th Anniversary of Dragon Magazine.

#RPGaDay2024 Most recently played
That would have to be my AD&D 2nd Edition one set in the Forgotten Realms with my oldest. We play a little here and there when he gets off of work (usually around 11:00pm to midnight).

Larina Nix and Malcear for Quest of the Ancients
A discussion about obscure RPGs turned our 2nd Ed Forgotten Realms session into a Quest of the Ancients character exploration. Will it replace AD&D 2e for me?

@thoughtpunks I think either #FengShui or #adnd2.
Feng Shui combat math can drive me nuts, but I have so much fun playing or running a session. Last time, I ran for almost a dozen people.
AD&D 2e is full of weird, inconsistent rules, but it was the first #TTRPG I ever played and I still get excited reading the books or thinking about THAC0 and the weird rules on races and classes.

Character Creation Challenge: Celene Werper for Wasted Lands
A side step in the family tree, but onto the next Edition of AD&D. Today, I discuss 2nd Ed and Celene Werper, healer, exorcist, and light necromancer.

5. At the moment, #CallOfCthulhu is the #TTRPG I play the most—it accounts for over a quarter of my hours at the table, and I currently play in two weekly campaigns, as well as frequent one-shots.
Since I began roleplaying, though, it'd be #DnD, though which edition I've played most is an open question: #BECMI, #ADnD1, #ADnD2, or #DnD3e. (I've not played nearly as much 0e, 4e, or 5e, though.) #gtkm
