#liveKultur #comedy #music #humour #show #live

  2. @glynmoody #Accelerando , an alarming #SciFi novel by @cstross
    I'm not sure he was perfectly serious, but that extrapolates.

  3. Where is my sentient, emotional luggage that was promised? :)
    @cstross #accelerando #scifi

  4. And that last bit is kind of important right? That's where #scifi comes back into play. Over the decades authors and "futurists" have played with a lot of variations on these themes. Portraying some positive outcomes like #StarTrek, or negative like #alita or #elysium or #accelerando 13/

  5. @hacks4pancakes

    I think this might be one of my favorite things about Mastodon. Back to seeing unrelated interests interact on the Internet.

    #Accelerando got me hooked. Now it's one of the few books I retain in deadtree.

    @dave_cochran @cstross

  6. @vk3xe @Unixbigot Does not contain live bees, which probably means these live bees are very fast #accelerando

  7. so apparently LinkedIn now has a "AI reply" button to messages, thus we have achieved the perfect situation where spamming recruiters send autogenerated crap and get back autogenerated crap.
    I'm pretty sure this was in @cstross's #Accelerando.

  8. "I mean, they're what, a ten-million-neuron network hooked up to a syntax engine and a crappy knowledge base? What kind of basis for intelligence is that?"

    #CharlieStross #Accelerando #2005

  9. @angusm @ct_bergstrom @cstross

    #accelerando

    Accelerating wheelchairs could harm poor, unsuspecting crocodiles?

  10. @scalzi it’s one of @cstross’s sentient Moscow Windows NT User Group lobsters from #accelerando. It’s here to help #chatgpt invade us.

  11. Kinda surprised “Fork your instance!” isn’t the “Drop dead!” of #Mastodon… And if you don’t know what “fork your instance” means, you need to read Charles Stross’ book #Accelerando.

  12. @muzkore @aral I was introduced to the idea of corporations as psychopaths by the excellent documentary The Corporation, which is required viewing for anyone who wants to understand the political-economy of the 21st century. I also recommend the Charles Stross novel #Accelerando, which riffs on the concepts by representing corporations as AI bots.
