They should sue immediately as should citizens for endangerment.
BTW, police can arrest people wearing masks (which protesters have long worn to combat pepper spray/tear gas). Obviously only a problem now as targeting a particular kind of protestor (or people shopping) and want to avoid crowd control and do their policing post-protest from a cozy cubicle.

So, no, this isn’t an excusable minor offense as some exhaustingly suggest, but plays into the #NonVoters charge—freshly bolstered by the Biden re-election fiasco, and, yes, health cover-up—that #BothSides are the same.
Opting to further demoralize your base AND alienate independent/non-voters is inexplicably, psychotically stupid.
