In the absence of #Colbert, I've tried a couple of #SethMyers show segments. Hmm, not feeling it.
Used to see his show occasionally many years ago, but it seems not as good these days. He's very yelly. Kinda shrill, trying too hard and the writing is a bit weak – hit and miss.
Oh well. The content is ridiculing the right things at least. 😂

The only thing* which bugged me about the excellent #Colbert finale is that when SC said his first concert had been from the #ChuckMangione Children of Sanchez tour, the band launched into "Feels So Good", rather than anydamnthing from CoS. If this is my only complaint, they all did an amazing job!
*aside from the show's cancellation by fascists
(I definitely would've been that staff member who wouldn't stop arguing for less-wrong pronunciation of "bonsai" on #OnlyInMonroe)

I posted this a few minutes ago, but I'm not sure of where it showed up. It's probably somewhere in direct messages. I'll repost it here to be safe and also to share these thoughts publicly.
@ricci Both you and @mastodonmigration are correct as far as it goes presently.
The PeerTube instance is new and still taking shape. In the past, I've contested takedown attempts. However, I don't mind the idea of complying with #DMCA in this case and then possibly moving the server to a Luxembourg host that I use.
Luxembourg is EU jurisdiction except for one top-level domain that is more protected. Takedowns are still possible in both of those contexts, but DMCA doesn't apply. Procedures need to be followed and I'm not liable for large penalties if I lose.
The PeerTube instance will, too, be broadcast- and download- only for the time being. So, no members will be inconvenienced if it needs to be shut down for a move.
Additionally, the goal is to set an example. It'll work better if more people, #PeerTube admins and their site members, start to think about this use of PeerTube.
See the story of youtube-dl and yt-dlp. Initially, billionaires tried to Block the Hell out of that code. 1,000s of people responded by mirroring the codebases. I did so myself. In the end, the billionaires were forced to give up.
This is referred to as Streisand Principle. I don't know if it's possible with videos. However, there's a reason to try for it.
For videos, the current system is YouTube based. To get a video taken down, a billionaire only needs to sneeze. If there are dozens of PeerTube instances that repost videos in the public interest, takedowns will be more difficult. Billionaires will be aware that mass takedowns risk calling attention to contested material and may trigger Streisand Effect.
This discussion isn't limited to YT videos at immediate risk [as the #Colbert Monroe video was initially]. People should repost public interest videos that might disappear later.
News clips are fair game. Interviews with billionaires or government officials who make inconvenient admissions are high priority.
Note, too, that YT is in a war with download software. Eventually, it'll be impossible to get videos off of the site. So, public interest videos should be downloaded and reposted while it's possible.
The U.S. wasn't supposed to be an oligarchy. As much as possible needs to be taken back from billionaire and corporate control. Ideally, it'll become the norm that inconvenient videos can't be swept under the rug. Just as it is already for text. -

I recommend LibreWolf in general, but note that LibreWolf probably won't work with PeerTube instances like this one. However, most other browsers should work.
If I'm required to do takedowns of videos, I might boot a PeerTube instance in Luxembourg and host copies there. DMCA isn't applicable in that jurisdiction, though EU rules do apply. -
