  1. Josh Bornstein’s article published on the #ABCNews site clearly and uncontroversially details what has gone wrong with the #RC into #antisemitism. He concludes that, following Justices #Fagan and #Stewart rulings, the RC’s report will not provide the political and ethical guidelines that are required of it. So, was this alledgedly #zionist push to have an RC following the Bondi massacre a total waste of time and money. In my view yes, but it did, and will continue to highlight the power of the #ZionistLobby and the #Israeli govt can project onto Australian domestic affairs. We’ve been warned. Now it’s for our #labor govt to set the record straight and review our #ForeignPolicy stance toward the Israeli govt and its #genocidal state apparatus.

“In recent years, the Australian community has been riven by a highly combustible debate about antisemitism, Zionism, criticism of Israel and the boundaries of free speech. The institutions that should provide leadership through the imbroglio — including governments, universities and the media — have faltered, seemingly unable to withstand strong political pressure. The lines between our respective democratic rights and obligations have become impossibly confused.

The royal commission represented an opportunity for a rigorous, disciplined examination of all these issues with the potential to offer the intellectual and moral leadership that might lead us to a better place. We await its final report later this year. But for now, we can say that, in its public hearings, it has failed to provide the leadership we needed.”
