Ah, a fellow #FrenchSeam aficionado!! It's well worth learning if you don't have a serger or zigzag stitch because it means enclosing all of your raw seams so that nothing gets raggedy. However, I've learned the hard way that it's best to start with fabric that has a right side and a wrong side. I've sewn things backwards SO many times over the last year and a half when I'm trying to learn all about garment sewing. My seam ripper keeps busy.

  7. I heard from @danielmiessler from #UnsupervisedLearning about a week ago and took some time to consider how to reply, because his message felt defensive and dismissive.

It also reinforced the impression I get that he spends a lot of time skimming and not reading.

FWIW: I think he's a good and very intelligent guy, but I do think he should try harder to be and do better.

Link to my original post, his response, and mine, attached.

  12. "Shambala" is a song written by #DanielMoore and made famous by two near-simultaneous releases in 1973: the better-known but slightly later recording by #ThreeDogNight, which reached No. 3 on the #Billboard Hot 100, and a version by #BWStevenson. Its title derives from a #mythical place-name also spelled Shamballa or #Shambhala.

I still can’t quite comprehend the mentality of someone who’d want to do this. Apparently they loved the attention the story received, and I hope they’re enjoying the attention they’re receiving now. One suspect denied cutting the tree down, despite the fact the police found a video on his phone…

  17. I was reading today's #UnsupervisedLearning from @danielmiessler today and I have to ask: why did it include a link to a right leaning news article with no sources or data?

This particular article is the original source of the Jamie Reed anti-trans debacle currently going on in Missouri.

I'm really disappointed that something this unfounded (the author offers no proof for her claims) is being shared through a newsletter I used to enjoy.
