I don't doubt Jill thinks she is the voice of reason.
It's terrifying to me that people have such beliefs in the face of no evidence other than what is fundamentally 'gossip' (nonsense on social media or the soundbites of fascists...)
GRRR...
Meantime, a vulnerable family member is terrified of the pervading atmosphere and what potentially lies ahead.

Let's see, there's this...
and this...
or what about this...
I know there are many more. But who cares now that we have "change" under #LiNO ?

After over 40 minutes on hold to #DWP on behalf of a family member, I've just accidentally cut myself off...
AAAAAARRRGH!

I've been on hold for 24 minutes, waiting to report what looks like a pile of rubbish which has been fly-tipped down a country lane and set on fire.
Apparently, I'm number 7 in the queue. The 'live chat' function states "No agent available" so that's not an option.
I decided to use the non-emergency number, but perhaps I should have used 999.

I have a disabled family member who could not possibly work, who lives in a constant state of anxiety, if not terror, of losing their only meagre income.
It makes me furious. I hate feeling so helpless, but short of winning the lottery, there's not much I can do.

My daughter recently switched her broadband provider to PlusNet.
I have to say their customer service has been absolutely excellent. Called with a couple of queries - due to poor responses from Sky, the previous provider. Agents were knowledgeable and helpful.
#PlusNet went above and beyond. I'll be switching when my contract ends.
Give me 'under-promise and over-deliver' every time.

"The new results reinforce the findings of previous studies which found that care homes operating on a for-profit basis tend to deliver poorer care than third and public sector providers."

No wonder so many people are absolutely fed up of politicians.
Completely tone deaf and out of touch...

Increasingly frustrated with #Aon, the #pension provider for thankfully a very small portion of my working life. I'm so glad not to have made any decisions dependent on a timely payout.
I completed a review search out of curiosity. They score 1.1. Hah!
I've telephoned several times to be told payment will be made "Soon". A complete waste of time.
I'm in receipt of three other pensions; all paid my benefits beginning on my birthday in February. 🤷🏻♀️

It's so difficult to make ethical choices when purchasing.
My washing machine 'died' mid-week, though after at least 20 years service I suppose it doesn't owe me anything. I cdn't buy the model I wanted at my preferred store so I reluctantly bought from #Currys (UK).
The next morning I received a faux service call and the guy proceeded to try to sell me insurance. I tried to stop his spiel, but he just carried on with his script. After 4 "No thank you"s, at increasing volume, I hung up.
GAH!

Oh, and surprised to be offered £500 to allow the insurance company of the person responsible to deal with the repairs.
Not sure what to do for the best. £500 is quite tempting, but I don't want a botch job either.
Hmmm...

"Recovering from intercostal muscle strain requires time, patience, and proper care."
An article states it can take 5 to 6 weeks to recover. At just over 2 weeks of constant pain I am 'over it'.
I know I'm fortunate that I don't have a chronic condition, but 'knowing' it and having an experience that makes you 'feel' it are two separate things.
Resting isn't in my nature, and as a carer it's virtually impossible. The coming weeks will be 'interesting'.
Happy Friday folks!

'On top of that, it owes them better services, so that those who want to work can do so; it owes them better services anyway, if it wants to count itself modern and humane; and it owes them the basic decency of recognition.'
