  2. Chronic illness is rising in the UK, straining the NHS, public finances and wider economy. Understanding where it comes from has profound implications for our vision of progress.

  4. Two years on from The False Economy of Big Food report, the UK’s food system remains locked in a costly contradiction. Unhealthy diets now account for almost £300 billion a year in health, social and economic costs. Yet making a healthy diet affordable would require a fraction of that sum.
New evidence suggests that, despite welcome steps towards prevention, the false economy of #BigFood is getting bigger.

  5. RE: xn--baw-joa.social/@unimannhei

Mike Parsons https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fxivdwbwk-M&list=PLlh5vjc-jOvX0QqpOa-P1NHstq8ZFnWx6&index=14 A Well-Being Economy I would like to see politicians who do want to be supporting the people of the country they live in rather than the big businesses or the corporations or everything else. People’s health and well-being should be the key factor. So I think a well-being economy rather than a productivity economy would more reflect God’s heart. There are some governments around […]

  28. I like this. @ChrisMayLA6. Thanks for sharing it.

    But it also saddens me.

All of my adult life has been spent with various parts of the wellbeing campaigners.

Yet this period since ~1980 has been dominated by #economicMan's greed and callousness.

Now economic man is being displaced, but not by a #wellbeingEconomy. The new big force is the politics and economics of cruelty. EconomicMan is being replaced by — or maybe fronted by — #SadisticMan.
