@Kaliah Exactly! I can't afford, for example, to pay @AiraVI for time with a human. But with their #AccessAI feature, I can get help with visual tasks, and even ask questions about the descriptions the AI provides me. I can show it a weather map, and it will tell me where the precipitation is and where it appears to be going. I can show it an instruction manual with diagrams and ask it to explain the diagrams to me. These are all things that were once totally inaccessible to me--I would have had to either just listen to a weather report or find a text-based forecast for the weather question, or wait around until I could get a human to help me with the manual. And for people who might have trouble speaking, AI voice modeling can help them keep their own voice when their body cannot, for whatever reason, speak. This is the beautiful side of AI. On the other hand, I do agree about the "bullshit ChatGPT" uses. So yes, while we acknowledge that there *are* misuses of AI, let us not forget AI's valuable implementations in the process. @TheZooLady

I had a lovely time at #ACB25. It was great meeting those of you out here who I've followed for some time and to be able to put a voice to the name, so to speak. Got to walk around the exhibit hall to look at products that I've been reading about for years but which I was finally able to get my hands on for the first time, such as the Monarch and other Braille products. It was also nice being able to stop by some of the booths just so that I could thank people for their life-changing services, such as @AiraVI and Scriptability. I wanted to say hi to Computers for the Blind but, not surprisingly, their booth was so jammed that I couldn't get in and so I chose to move on. It was also great working the @BlazieTech booth and showing people BT Speak and the BT Braille prototype. Before I left for convention, I was considering organizing a Doctor Who meetup for any fans who might have wanted to get together for pizza, having some informal conversation and listening to a DW episode. I decided against it and my brother told me that it would probably wind up just being me and one other person. 😀 I may do it next year and see about the logistics of having a small room for it.

Dear #Zoom I can literally say I hate you with the fire of 8 million suns at high noon. You've made downloading meeting recordings and participants list so unintuitive that even the #Aira agent that helped me struggled. But at least he got it done. I usually turn it into an endurance test game but not tonight. Tonight I gave in and cheated and let Matt help me. Thank you @AiraVI for existing.

Isn't this bizarre! Maybe one of my #Smart #Blind #Techy friends can explain this to me. When I visit my local gas and electric utility's website in #MicrosoftEdge #ScreenReaders can find the "continue button" that appears once you enter your multi-factor authentication code. However, if in #GoogleChrome said button is invisible. Why would that be? Said button according to the lovely @AiraVI agent is also #Blue if that helps.

Uday aur Bhairavi ki Shaadi
Bhavna’s family is from Vadodara, Gujarat, India. These images are from her baby brother’s Grah Shanti, Pithi, and Shaadi. Hindu weddings are my favourite type of wedding. They are colourful and noisy affairs involving the entire family. A marriage in India (or Pakistan) is considered as a union between the two families and not just…
