@gallagher123123 I'm very glad to know that you had access to a Mass at #NFB25. This was not the case for #ACB25 and so I had to take Lyft to a nearby chapel to attend Sunday Mass. I'm glad you were able to attend. Good for #NFB25!!!

Oops. Looks like I missed #ACB25. Down side of being sick is that you don't pay attention to many things going on outside.
-
@ShariRockz Their talk at #ACB25 was quite good. One thing they confirmed was that the ability to get detailed descriptions has now rolled out to 100% of all Meta glasses.

Thanks to all who posted convention details and descriptions of their experiences from #ACB2025 I haven't been to an ACB Convention in a number of years and I really missed being in Dallas this year. Attending virtually was good, just not quite the same as being there. For those who were at the banquet, did you know ACB Media broadcast like thirty minutes of you guys eating? That was pretty funny audio to listen to. Someone said something about short ribs, sounded delicious! Anyhow, hope everyone had an awesome convention week and I hope to be in St. Louis next year. #ACB25 #ACB2025

Many thanks to @ACBNational for a great #ACB25!!! I haven't been to an ACB convention since 1996 and I had a wonderful time.

@AuroraNebulosa I hope you're able to find an appropriate guide. I've so far not gotten Covid, at least that I'm aware of, but getting it could be problematic for me and my wife getting it could be even more serious. Because of this, as well as my desire to protect others, I always mask when I'm out in public and I did so for the duration of #ACB25, even when I was exhibiting at my team's booth. I also met another product vendor who sounded like he was also masked.

@bookshare @DavidGoldfield @nationsblind Sorry not to see #Bookshare at #ACB25 this year. Also sorry to see many exhibitors leave #ACB25 after only a few days. I guess that’s what happens when both conventions are during the same week.

@baxaphobia @Lisasali Actually one of the best humans I’ve ever met. He went out of his way to say hi to me at #ACB25 I was surprised to see him there, and told him I thought he had retired. His response? I did, but I didn’t die.

Home after a week in Dallas at #ACB25 Overall it was a fun week but I’m wondering if I’m not liking traveling as much as I used to. I enjoy things once I get there, it’s the actual traveling part that’s getting hard for me. No fun at all at the very least.

It was nice to meet Venkatesh at the Orbit Research booth and finally get to see all of their products that I've been reading about, such as the Orbit Speak and the Orbit Player. The Orbit Player is nicely built and is smaller than I expected. It could do very well for them but the initial lack of BARD access could hurt sales. I'm not in the market for a dedicated book player but if I were it would be a tough choice between the Evo 12 and the Orbit Player. I also got to briefly take a look at the SensePlayer for the first time and I also liked what I saw. #ACB25

At #ACB25, I was disappointed that the hotel didn't provide us with free AIRA access. That caused me to replenish minutes several times as I was using AIRA on my Meta glasses a lot for navigation around the hotel. Using AIRA on Whatsapp worked quite well overall. I did provide feedback both to AIRA and Meta that the AIRA app needs to be a native application on the glasses. I suspect this will happen.

I had a lovely time at #ACB25. It was great meeting those of you out here who I've followed for some time and to be able to put a voice to the name, so to speak. Got to walk around the exhibit hall to look at products that I've been reading about for years but which I was finally able to get my hands on for the first time, such as the Monarch and other Braille products. It was also nice being able to stop by some of the booths just so that I could thank people for their life-changing services, such as @AiraVI and Scriptability. I wanted to say hi to Computers for the Blind but, not surprisingly, their booth was so jammed that I couldn't get in and so I chose to move on. It was also great working the @BlazieTech booth and showing people BT Speak and the BT Braille prototype. Before I left for convention, I was considering organizing a Doctor Who meetup for any fans who might have wanted to get together for pizza, having some informal conversation and listening to a DW episode. I decided against it and my brother told me that it would probably wind up just being me and one other person. 😀 I may do it next year and see about the logistics of having a small room for it.

@ChrisDuffley It was wonderful meeting you at #ACB25. Thanks again for letting me know about the nearby chapel, which I did go to for 11:30 AM Mass. I didn't walk it but it was only a six-minute Lyft ride.

@Mendi_Tech After I asked about the feature to enable detailed descriptions not being on my glasses, the product manager was happy to report that, as of a few hours before the session, this capability had rolled out to 100% of users (in the U.S., anyway.) After I got back home, I saw there was an update to the Meta AI app and the feature was finally available on my glasses. #ACB25

I don't care if you have multiple disabilities, don't know how to think, whatever. If you're compotent enough to tell me all the errors in my logic, then you're compotent enough to do your own research on a matter before telling me how flawed I am, and if you're not, then don't spit on my ideas just cause you're clueless! I'm over #acb25, glad it's my last night, the vibe has been good, but coddling to people who say stupid shit, I'm done

The #ACB25 has been amazing! We were so excited to connect with everyone at the Insert J Club meetup this morning and loved having everyone join us for Ryan's presentation yesterday. Ryan shared what is new and upcoming in JAWS to a packed room and really enjoyed all the feedback from the crowd.
There is still time to connect with us in the AI Training Suite or in the exhibit hall, check out our schedule: https://vispero.com/events/acb-2025/

Anyone got $550 lying around? I would love to get these #EchoVision glasses. They are pretty amazing. #ACB2025 #ACB25

I see nothing has changed at this friggin' airport. Came into #DallasLoveField. Immediately told to put myself in a damn wheelchair. Um, you did see I just walked off the plane, and when I asked why there was no answer. #Fail #ACB2025 #ACB25

Oka so that last post was delayed. ended up using #Aira with my #MetaGlasses. The freedom I felt just walking along, taking my own bag to security never gets old. #ACB2025 #ACB25
