From Vispero, Glen Gordon, who was awarded the prestigious Kenneth Jernigan award for his outstanding contribution to access technology, discusses the history of JAWS and offers some wise advice. Ryan Jones then discusses JAWS in the present, and an exciting new feature.
We then hear from Target, which is rolling out fully accessible self-checkout terminals to all stores. -

This week, we head back to #NFB25 for our presentation called “Comparing Apples with Androids”. We’ll take an iPhone and a Google Pixel, and look at how they complete various tasks.

I love the 20,000MA accessible batteries from @atguys but I don't think they should develop a rattle less then a month after purchasing at #nfb25. Hopefully someone sees my e-mail and we can get it replaced, because I'd rather that rattle when you gently shake it not to turn into something more significant.

For anyone that went to #NFB25 and particularly if you stayed at the Marriott, might be an idea to double check your hotel bill. The one I was Emailed on checkout was fine and I think I was charged correctly, but the stay posted twice to my Bonvoy account and both have the wrong room number listed. I got a post stay survey Email addressed to someone else who turns out to be the occupant of the room in the bill that's listed on my stay history. Odd stuff indeed.

Does anyone know if the Meta glasses are going to allow third party app support? I didn't receive clear information regarding this when I heard the talk given during General Sessions. I would love to see @AiraVI properly integrated into this platform instead of them having to do the whatsapp hack. #nfb25

While attending #NFB25, I learned that Meta’s Meta Quest apparently has a screen reader now. No idea how well it works or what apps support it, but the idea of having a screen reader in a VR device is really fascinating to me.

I was supposed to be going to bed, but I decided before I did that, I'd post this 14 minutes and 3 seconds of stereo outside dog fun times with callisto, not a lot of barking happens, just @Pawpower and I talking, and me throwing the balls for callisto, a lot of panting happens to. Phoenix gives Callisto the business near the end of the file. I realized after saving the ending gets prematurely cut off, but the hell with it. Audio files will notice a quick edit job about 3:47 into the file, you'll just have to suck it up and deal. This was originally recorded with the zoom H1 Essential and bi-noral microphones on July 12, 2025 while I was attending #nfb25 at around 9:00 PM CDT. Well, it's been a wonderful convention! Just a note to Canadians to make sure to get a taxi driver to tap your card instead of swiping it. I just got the fright of my life when my card was declined because the driver was trying to swipe it instead of tapping it. When I got him to tap it, everything was fine. #NFB25

@gallagher123123 I'm very glad to know that you had access to a Mass at #NFB25. This was not the case for #ACB25 and so I had to take Lyft to a nearby chapel to attend Sunday Mass. I'm glad you were able to attend. Good for #NFB25!!!

We'll do day 5 of #NFB25 in a few hours! If I didn't get to see you today, I'll most likely be with Ohio during the morning general session unless I sneak out in the middle for.. coffee, yeah, that's what I'll go do! lol!. Anyhow, later, gaters! I did get caught up on all my mentions, though.
