#nowplaying Hardspace: Shipbreaker OST
I am usually wary of game soundtracks on vinyl. Often, the mixing isn't right, or the very nature of game soundtrack arrangements (usually spliced snippets) makes for not-so-great "linear" listening and vinyl mastering.
This one is a delightful exception, likely since it was all played live anyway, and since the vinyl mastering was done really well. It sounds fantastic and I enjoy it very much

#nowplaying #ColourHaze - Tempel
Everybody's playing Ozzy and Black Sabbath tonight. I am playing this. Not to be contrarian, but I feel like it.

#nowplaying #underworld #bornslippy
Getting pumped for tonight's Arma 3 mission with CA.
And yes, I know the song is wildly misunderstood party anthem that was originally written about a drunk's worldview and how you only remember fragments of a night spent boozing.

I never knew the (successors of) #turboencabulator is still around

#nowplaying #Yello - The Race
As repetitive and self-indulgent as the 12" version of this is, I can't get enough of it.

#nowplaying #thecometiscoming - Channel The Spirits
TCIC is delightfully weird jazzy, sax-driven.... music is as much as I can narrow it down. Eminently danceable at times, but never simple or repetitive. Always interesting and fun.

#nowplaying Yello - The Race
While in the US, they are more well-known for the "Oh Yeah", in no small part to Ferris Bueller, I'd wager that The Race was more popular in Europe. It definitely was in Germany, in no small part to a TV show called "Formel Eins" (Formula One), which was a charts hit show kinda deal.
Now that I am Swiss, I of course have patriotic feelings, too ;)
I keep wondering if that sax bit was a sample or if they recorded it for this track...

#nowplaying Black Sky Giant - Falling Mothership
Mostly caught my eye with the space ship reminding me of the mothership in the Homeworld series of games. Love the music, still.

As someone who during two longer stays in the UK listened to the Shipping Forecast every morning for months at a time (by virtue of host family members needing it for their jobs), this is just full of memories and oddity.

Current patient: Harman-Kardon PM655 Vxi.
At the moment the right channel is only about 5% of the volume of the left one. Since this amp can be split (pre- vs. main amp) it was easy to find the problem is with the main amp section. Next step is to figure out what's wrong. There are several options, like a broken rail voltage supply or one of that ~15 transistors that precede the main output ones (those I've already checked).

Bought an #oscilloscope ( #rigol MSO5074) and it allows you to upload images to use as "screensavers". So naturally I had to do this:

CW: depol (sortof)
Liebe Stadt Kaarst.

#nowplaying Creedence Clearwater Revival - Chronicle
Time for a whole bunch of classics. My dad had this as both an LP as well as a CD, so it clearly was desirable. Luckily, it sold extremely well, so getting a very nice copy wasn't too difficult.
And no, I don't just have this because I play #Arma (Fortunate Son playing in the distance...).

#nowplaying Hermanos Guiterrez - Sonido Cosmico
I have no recollection how I stumbled across this, but is delightfully simple: two guitars and a minimal percussion and other instrumentation. Very reminiscent of Morricone soundtracks and, oddly, the first Borderlands game.

#nowplaying Explosions In The Sky - The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place
Just the right music for Christmas Eve.

#nowplaying Red Snapper - Making Bones
Red Snapper were (are?) a band that set out to do the whole triphop thing (which wasn't a thing except the press insisted) but with real instruments: drumkit, upright bass, brass here and there. Some people find it too aggressive for their tastes (which may be due to the vocals). I love it for being so rough around the edges, and loud, and very in-your-face. "Image of You" is an outlier and then became a hit of theirs.
