Mein #Tischmultimeter ist da. Habe mich dann doch für das #Rigol #DM858 entschieden. Kleiner Formfaktor, VESA Halterung, gute Webschnittstelle und großes Display haben dann für sich gesprochen. Leider bootet es etwas lang, aber normalerweise läuft es dann ja am Stück durch. #Multimeter #messgerät

Überlege mir ein #Tischmultimeter für die #Werkstatt zuzulegen. Im Moment könnte man ein #DM858 von #Rigol für 470 EUR bekommen. Präzision ist für mich nicht unbedingt das Wichtigste. Habt ihr evtl noch einen Tipp für mich? #Multimeter #Elektronik

i made a pop-out control panel for controlling the Envox BB3 power supply and oscilloscope from the desktop (for times when i'm too lazy to reach out to the instrument :)). it's using eww dock which is polling the instruments by sending SCPI commands and which can also trigger actions on instruments (voltage/current set, channel enable, trigger start/stop/single/force).

My dad made me a Vesa compatible holder for my oscilloscope and it turned out great! Just as imagined. Of course, it is a massive steel construction, we both would not trust a 3D printed construction with my dear Rigol.

Proud of myself this evening. Used my new Rigol scope for the first time and managed to understand the electrical signals our new Panasonic WhisperValue bathroom fan uses. Told me what I need to replace the onboard switch with an ESP32 to control the fan speed and monitor the RPM. All part of my plan for a unified ventilation system using ESPHome and Home Assistant.

#Rigol does well from $2/MHz @ 100 MHz to $7.50/MHz @ 2 GHz (vs. $20/MHz for a similar Tek scope).

Geeking out playing with PyVISA . Simple Hello world complete. Wrote a loop for my Rigol DP832A to increase from 0 to 10v in .5 volt increments, while measuring every .5 seconds from my Rigol DM3068 and writing the output to file. Was not too painful. Need to start playing the commands for my digital load, signal generator and oscilloscope now.
