“#Listen, I'm telling you this woman has nothing worse than a bad sunburn,” said a man with a British accent as I awoke. My skin felt like it was on fire, but the pain was nothing like what I had endured before I blacked out.
When I opened my eyes, I found a man in a white coat leaning over me. The stethoscope around his neck made it clear who he was.
Another voice, thickly accented, spoke next, “Ah swear, sir, she had third-degree burns over most of ’er body. Half a dozen folk told us she were on fire. One o’ them daft Buddhists what set themselves alight in protest.”
“Look at her. Do those look like third-degree burns? What kind of idiots do they #breed in Yorkshire anyway!?” The doctor was clearly irritated, and I didn’t think my explaining that they were #flash burns from a meteor would help. Things would only get more complicated if I tried.
Already, the burning sensation had decreased and was more like an itch. I was going to have to escape before they noticed I was still healing. It would be a sticky wicket, as they say.
I sat up, jumping off the gurney. “Excuse me, I've got to go,” I said and bolted.
“Hey, wait,” I heard behind me. I don’t know who it was, nor did I wait to find out. Spotting a restroom sign, I headed straight for it. On the way, I noted a nurse in uniform. I could use that to make my escape.
Once in the bathroom, I manifested the uniform, ducked back out, and headed down the first corridor I saw. No one seemed to follow me, so I slowed down and was relieved to see Emily floating along behind me.
“That was close,” I said, stopping.
“That was a frightfully close shave,” she replied in a mock British accent. “Your quick thinking is commendable. I don’t know what would have happened if you hadn’t gotten us away from that meteor. I’m not sure even your healing trick would have helped.”
A worse alternative occurred to me: constantly healing while being burned away in the next instant. I knew this time-traveling ghost business had to have a few gotchas. Turned out they were big ones.

What does Space smell like?
On first glance this seems like a really stupid question.
Space is a vacuum and can't contain any molecules that might have an odour. Plus if you stuck your nose into space the vacuum would rip the olfactory receptors out of your nose.
Those are the reactions I had when I saw the question posed. It turns out that it isn't such a daft question.
The smell of space has been detected and it is like the fumes from welding. Astronauts aboard the ISS have reported that they notice a metallic aroma – like the smell of welding fumes – on the surface of their spacesuits once the airlock has re-pressurised.

#Spotted While Roaming in Aotearoa New Zealand:
A bubbly woman (80s?) in a glamorous caftan, wafts into a supermarket and greets an employee, saying: "Hello darling, are my special mushrooms in today?"
The employee grins and points to the organic section: "Yes sweetheart. Just over there."A big man (70s?) parks VERY close to the car next to him.
His wife gets out and says: "You won't be able to get out now."
He indignantly says: "Yes I will."
She spends the next few minutes belly laughing as he tries to extract himself from the car before he huffs an admission she was right.A high stepping dog (border collie) is trotting over a sea of fallen autumn oak leaves. Tail wagging, ears perky. Looking up at her human with a big adoring doggy grin.
Three men (80s & 90s?) all arrive at a cafe from separate directions. Greeting each other out front with big bear hugs. Huge grins. Gentle pats on the back before they take a table in the sun. They've got some catching up to do.
A man (60s?) is snoozing in the front seat of a camper van parked right next to the sea. A fishing rod poking out of the driver's window. A big sunny sky overhead. Gulls leisurely circling overhead.
Any typos spotted in this post are looking forward to catching up with their wonderful and fabulously talented author friend Kim. M. Watt today. If typos spotted, there will be a long-overdue recounting of all the daft things that have happened over the past few months. Belly laughing mandatory.

I was really hoping #UKLabour would have time to scrap #FPTP before they committed hara-kiri.
I don't see a potential replacement for Starmer who looks like a safer bet that I would vote for. What they need is to play as a team and stop Starmer announcing daft ideas before they've all thought them through. It's not strong leadership to make mistakes on your own. If they were collective mistakes then they may as well go now and let Honest Nige finish us off.
