lol at least you're honest about it.

rust bros be like, "If your CPUs aren't screaming and your laptop wrist rest getting soft from the heat, are you even compiling anything?!?" /s

Go's date format thingie is 1000% "tell me you don't think programmers can learn date (1) format strings without telling me you don't think programmers can learn date (1) format strings" XD

That and the whole #Issue9 debacle is a bit depressing, but I won't poop on your favorite language too much. It looks pretty cool overall.

  2. A weekend project of mine that actually turned out really useful for me. I have a network player hooked up to my amplifier that streams music over #DLNA, and I've been using #minidlna to great effect for a long time, but one thing was missing. A way to scrobble my listens to #last.fm.

I made a quick #Go program to watch the minidlna log for streaming requests and send that to last.fm.

It was very fun to write. Maybe it'll be useful to someone else as well?

¿Porque no los dos? There is nothing inherent to that precludes it be owned by all its users.

These technologies are proven to be powerful and convenient. We can retain that *and* democratise ownership.

We need to dismantle the business models and make illegal their exploitative selling of our attention and data. Then empower providers to compete on real service to those who should own the system: The people whose lives it affects.

Other than the weird date format and the whole #Issue9 debacle, and the fact that it's controlled by google (but they don't seem to be doing anything too evil with that control?), it seems to be a neat language. It's got bwk behind it, it can't be all bad!!

Yeah, but aren't those that say that vinyl sounds better than even 24-bit FLAC? XD

I miss the physical keyboard on my #crackberry. I could type accurately on it with my eyes closed / looking the other direction just by tactile field. It was fantastic. I don’t mind autocorrect because it doesn’t tend to get in my way, but with the real keyboard I didn’t need it.

I always type with “proper” English grammar - at least sentences and capitals. Code switching is a thing of course, but I generally consider being able to type a sentence table stakes for respect for the other party in communication. I’ve always typed fast enough that it actually takes me longer to type “shortcuts” than just using real words.
