@jannem @Edent Interestingly enough, these languages originates from Ken Iverson's work on a notation for expression algorithms. This language (called APL) was not initially intended to be used on a computer, but for communication. This made it naturally terse, using symbols rather than words, because it was optimised for a blackboard rather than a terminal.
He invented some new notation that is used in maths today, including the symbols for floor and ceiling.

I believe that #mastodon may be a good fit for some of those leaving #reddit
Mastodon is also organized in a way that accommodates public discussion of niche topics (through subscribing to hashtags or curated content). There is community #moderation in each instance, and different content policies. Mastodon allows posts with images and videos (and even alt text). Mastodon allows bots, editing posts, third party apps, saving content, etc. These are many of the features that reddit users are concerned about losing.
However, mastodon has no ranking system or algorithm. It is just you and your timeline. Likewise, there is no karma or emphasis on #virality - it is just direct community responses around a topic. Conversations are not infinitely threaded, but rather more focused on a single discussion, and not everything is searchable.
Some communities will thrive here but you are right it is not a forum.

@Janne6nen Eiköhän se ole vain markkinointikikka. Ei liene sallittua näyttää (väittää) että tuote olisi jotenkin parempi kuin se on tai että pakkauksessa olisi vaikka mitä, ellei siinä ole.
Mutta kun mukaan laittaa tuon maagisen tekstin: "tarjoiluehdotus" voi pakkaukseen tällätä vaikka kuinka runsaan kattauksen, ilman että kyse olisi harhaanjohtavasta markkinoinnista.Tämäkin kahvi tyydyttää pakkauksen perusteella ns. paremman elämän janoa.

Just watched Identikit (aka "The Driver's Seat"). It might be at a low point in Elizabeth Taylor's career but it is peak Liz to me.
Recommending this and Kier-La Janisse's book House of Psychotic Women: An Autobiographical Topography of Female Neurosis in Horror and Exploitation Films that got me interested in the film.

@janneke This is a difficult question to answer. First of all, I only really know the #Librem5. Furthermore, you can be tracked via the browser, via connection to telephone antenna's, Wifi and Bluetooth and probably more.
The Librem 5 has kill switches to physically switch of wifi, gsm, camera, and microphone.

Just watched Ugly, Dirty and Bad at the CINEMA. It used to be in my top lists but I hadn't seen it in maybe 20 years so I only remembered that it was ugly, dirty and GREAT. And that it's the kind of film you can actually smell.
It was still great.

Just watched "Creatures The World Forgot" which have a title that LIES. I remember all the creatures in this and it was super easy to do because it not a lot of creatures in it. It's basically just snakes and bears and stuff like that.
