Una de las cosas que da tener una carrera larga es incurrir en contradicciones. A veces leídas como evolución y otras, simplemente, faltando a la personalidad de tu proyecto.
Lo mejor de La verdad o la imaginación viene a ser el título, aunque por separado no deja de haber elementos bonitos e interesantes.
A las Fangoria les solía sentar bien cambiar de productores y meter savia nueva en su equipo. Pero nada es infalible, los cambios hay que hacerlos con visión. Hace una década que no pasa, Matt Pop es otra reincidencia para mal.
Entre todo lo que dicen (me salto lo extramusical) está que su disco es eurodance. Eso no está en la parte de la verdad, corresponde a la de la imaginación. Entre lo que decían antaño estaba, por ejemplo, que las canciones positivas no molaban (y terminaron haciendo Para volver a empezar o Voluntad de resistir), también que meter nombres de ciudades en las letras era feo, cero Fangoria, la pista 2 es El síndrome de París (con verso en francés).
Al final la tibia Me voy no era un mal primer single... Pues está en un largo a duras penas suficiente, de cinco. Sin ir más lejos, Tigres de escayola no sabe qué canción ser, Consecuencias pedía tirar al cosmic pop y El beso suena a demasiado a otra cosa, sabe a versión, pero no se acredita.
Ale Sergi da algún dinamismo: Bailo y Cada quien con su cual tienen pase. Santi Capote, repetidor, también endereza composiciones con su labor. Lo que pasa es que Matt y, por sobre todo, ellas dos, parecen haber estado encantadas de conocerse a la hora de entrar en faena. O vagas: las propias letras parecen un vomitado de IA tras estudiarse a las antiguas Fangoria.
A la espera del siguiente disco con Rojuu, estas canciones son como el interior de una nave espacial abandonada: parecen algo, y luego nada.

Cuando te conoces y sabes de tus tendencias menos favorecedoras, lo mejor es provocar cambios que las eviten.
Alaska y Nacho (al que las pencas definen por ahí como el señor que siempre hace photobomb a Olvido) saben que se aburguesan -en su sonido, no me sean malas- pronto. Es más, saben que pueden hacerlo, que tienen hits y antihits para girar hasta la eternidad o, más apropiado, retirarse a una residencia musical perpetua en Benidorm.
Me voy recupera tímidamente a las Fangoria easy listening de tracks históricos que no fueron sencillos pero que, con otra dirección artística -o comercial-, bien pudieron serlo. En cualquier caso no primeros singles.
Retomando lo aprendido de Lo imposible, una de sus últimas pistas más sorpresivas no por buenas sino por agradables, Me voy cuenta con una melodía bonita bien desarrollada y un inicio instrumental acertado. Luego, una letra como hecha por una IA que se ha estudiado las de sus últimas cinco publicaciones, y una producción marca de la casa que se destaca de temas anteriores en que es más limpia.
Yo creo que con las escuchas, este electropop melódico -y ortopédico- ganará. Hoy me gusta más que anoche cuando la oí.
En el video apenas han gastado dineros, ese tiempo también pasó. Alaska posa y mueve las manitas por toda coreografía junto a un mobiliario Conforama futuristic edition (resulta jocoso verla cantándole al sillón metálico en plan animismo artificial) y como súper reveal en el peak del videoclip... se saca un guante.
Como con Lo imposible (y tantas otras canciones) termino pensando que dentro había una canción mejor, pero para salir requería de gente con visión y con ganas a su lado.
Antes de lanzar La verdad o la imaginación habrá algún single nuevo, veremos qué tal está y sabremos el desempeño de Me voy.
