Aprovechando 90 minutos tontos, hoy me he visto #Rebeldes de Coppola (#TheOutsiders, 1983), otra de mis eternas pendientes. Me ha gustado entre bastante y mucho. Ecos a clásicos como Rebelde sin causa o West Side Story, aunque sobre todo la veo emparentada a la posterior Stand by me (1986), tanto por su argumento y ambientación como por su trasfondo.
Con lo más granado de los actores juveniles de la época (el llamado “Brat Pack”), Coppola hace una película que ya era deliberadamente “antigua” en los 80, y ese es su mayor encanto. La relación entre Ponyboy y Johnny (MARAVILLOSOS C. Thomas Howell y Ralph Macchio) es lo mejor de la película, junto con la espectacular fotografía.
