@sebsauvage @gabe_sky absolutely - but #danu first needs to learn how to load a script from the DHT :)
Currently it only knows how to show a page from the DHT. And only with the statistics around.

Meet #Danu, the new #Fledger! It can finally share data in a Distributed Hash Table (#DHT), and now it can also update this data! At least on the CLI...
The first example here is the actual homepage of the system, which is stored in the DHT. I'm so happy this actually works now! When you go to:
Your browser connects to the other nodes, synchronizes part of the DHT, and then shows the homepage of Danu.
Coming up: storing your own webpages on Danu!

A thing I've been thinking about is whether word embedding could be used to build exhaustive distributed search. #P2P networks like #Kademlia use the 'closeness' of an ID's bit pattern to determine node neighbours: you could just as easily use a binary word embedding of a search query to generate such an ID for lookup, and it has the lovely property that similar search queries get mapped to nearby areas of the #DHT address space.

I managed to set up temp. and humidity sensor (DHT 22) with small screen. Next step is to figure out why I cannot access to devices through access point and IPs. After that I have to combine DHT22, screen, AP and small html page for accessing the devices that are on the local network. Still a lot of work and reading and testing and failing and learning 🤓

@radicle @levitte so it comes down to #peertopeer vs #federation, ey?
The idea of detaching users from being tied to a node or a repo is great for the autonomy of devs, and that it's built on custom network protocols that don't rely on #IPFS or #DHT is quite cool.
I'll need to return to this subject, because the idea of giving control to the people rather than large companies is an important issue. But what ways suit what use cases?
Also, cool alien painting bro 😐👍

been playing around with yacy the last few days. It's a distributed search engine that crawls the web and shares the results in a DHT.
That is, mine would share its results as well, if I could get that damn port forwarding working.so actually I've mostly played around with that. somehow the port at the target machine still isn't recognized, despite a separate caddy forward working perfectly

Free PhD:
Khrennikov's p-adic framework models the universe as a growing dendrogram where finite epistemic cutoffs correspond to observable events and the infinite p-adic tree is the ontic substrate.
Using Khrennikov's DHT, can the Higgs VEV be expressed as a function of the minimum dendrogram depth at which a finite subtree has lower free energy than the homogeneous distribution?

The secret to making a successful decentralized video hosting site:
1. Store your videos on something like #Arweave (#Odysee already plans to do this)
2. Automatically distribute popular videos over a DHT (& WebRTC)
Do both for guaranteed delivery + high performance. -
Magnet links for FreeBSD 14.3-R have now been published:
https://wiki.freebsd.org/TorrentsAs usual, it can take some time before the DHT gets updated w/ the torrents, so please be patient.

Spiking insulin and DHT can shrink your hair follicles and trigger serious hair loss.

#Danu Page editing is here! Now you can create your own page and keep it in the DHT of Danu. I created a page here, directly in the browser:
TLDR: I'm writing a decentralized system running in your browser. It uses WebRTC to connect to other browsers and fixed nodes. You can store data in the system, for example webpages.
But only people participating in the system can read the pages. I wonder whether it's ycombinator-safe? Probably not... -
News from #danu! As it is used in a semester student project, I'm trying very hard to get it nice. Over the last week I cleaned up the WebRTC communication, and the way the DHT-storage communicates between the nodes. And I also found out that the tests failed, but that my github workflow still passed :(
So now it connects much faster, and the time to first page is about 4 seconds, instead of 30 seconds.
Leave a message on the Global Chat!
Next step: creating new pages
