Home for the night after a long hike. The cooler temperatures as we approach fall are supportive of hiking.

Back from a backcountry hiking trip. The weather was more fall-like, than summer-like, with rain, but that's OK. No bugs, no crowds, crisp air - dreamy!
After the long backpacking camping hike, we did one more hike in a pine forest on the way home. It was almost spiritual with cool mist and deafening quiet.

Lawns were something that wealthy people in the past used to ostentatiously show their wealth.
To maintain a rich green manicured lawn required a lot of resources. It wasn't to grow food for humans or livestock, so showed they were so wealthy they could afford to waste a lot.
Flash forward, and so many of us STILL imitate this, albeit on a small scale. Some will even judge others based on their lawn.

Came across a river during my hike. It was pretty, and neat to see the battle between the ice and flowing water.

The sun sure is pretty on the canvas hot tent. Warming up, and having a bite of lunch.

It was a lot of work, but camp chilly-bum has been established. 💪⛄
I'm cosier than you would imagine in that tent right now. Such a strange and empowering thing to be be like "yeah, I'll go sleep on some snow, for fun", thrive, and enjoy it.
It's a good thing too because it's a lot of work! 😥

Last night's drive up to northern Ontario was intense! Much of it, you couldn't see where the road was. Forget about any concept of lanes!
I got off the road when conditions got even worse. The snow was causing white out.
