  1. CW: blu-ray hunting, not going well..

trying to find Steins;Gate 0 on blu ray but part 2's sold out everywhere!

even ebay seems to only have ones that are region-locked to either Not-North-America or Not-Telling :neofox_sob:

haven't found a series box for it either (if one exists.. does it??), only part 1..

  2. CW: trans stuff, bit of a vent but open to advice or commiseration

tmw a long-time-ago friend/acquaintance phones you up randomly to say hi, but you came out since you last spoke years ago and they only know you as [Deadname] so you gotta either tell them and risk that awkwardness (they're religious) or just cringe through the call as they deadname you (not knowing any better) :neofox_smol:

  7. The absolute state of music tagging in #Jellyfin lol /light-hearted

Guess I need to get used to re-tagging my Bandcamp purchases before adding them to my library, since Jellyfin took some of my tracks as multi-artist tracks when really the artist's name just has a semicolon (;) lmao

Should I be using #MusicBrainzPicard or #Beets or what? I know nothing about these softwares yet lol, i just wanna listen to well-organized tunes in Jellyfin or #Tangara 😭

  9. Ok so, I'd like to get one of those "coverage %" shield badges in some git projects of mine. Unfortunately, they're hosted on my own forge at git.avg.name, and most everywhere I looked (github.com/inttter/md-badges?t for starters) are all very GitHub-only, some GitLab, no Forgejo/Gitea 😞 or are like Schedule A 🕴️ Demo™

  10. Nothing like the adrenaline rush of discovering the hard way that the password change field on your own app completely borks authentication! :blobfox0_0:

Didn't break encryption keys, thank goodness, or else this would have been worlds harder to fix :blobfoxlaughsweat:

  11. CW: Content warning meta, bad metaphors

Spoilers and content warnings are like turn signals, in that they are most useful if people use them consistently.

The Block and Mute User options also exist, and work reliably when people leave crap un-CW'd. (I wish cars had something like that)

  12. Turning the Javascript fallback of my web project from a plain-text "plz turn on Javascript lol" message into an adaptive render of the main page HTML and CSS content, with hints to enable JS only where needed to go further, feels almost magical.

It's not magical, right now based on a copy-pasta from my devtools that I must maintain manually. But it's a start.

  15. Still haven't recovered. I'm probs gonna be a sobbing wreck off and on for the next few days. Great show. Ripped out my heartstrings by the end and now I'm bleeding.

    Anyway,

  19. I woke up this morning wanting to make a simple API that echoes back the caller's IP address, a fun little lookup utility that folks could use for scripting or reference or whatever. I thought this would take only 3 hours to do. 6 hours later, I have a basic prototype working and published!

:blobcatOh: It was then that I remembered that Vercel doesn't even support IPv6, so I'm gonna have to port this to some other platform anyway.

  20. Metaframeworks exist to handle dynamic server-side rendering for cases like this (I think they call it "hydration"), but due to some rather specific technical goals for this project, I can't mix client and server logic like that.

Short of a build phase to auto-generate a stub of the initial client-rendered page, copy-pasta for me!
