Okay #MusicBrainzPicard and #listenbrainz are two of the coolest things I've learned about this year. And I can scrobble from my iPod Video with Rockbox? Amazing.

Spent most of Friday working on my music collection. I've changed and added metadata for thousands of songs.
I don't understand why I don't get bored. I even forgot to eat dinner. Will probably spend my weekend doing this and having a great time while doing it for some reason.

I could compliment MusicBrainz Picard all day every day, it's so good. I love it when you try to look up files based on their metadata but the lookup fails. Instead, you just tell Picard "Just listen to the content and figure it out" and it actually does.
Feels like magic!

For the music lovers (and overlapping: Jellyfin users), i am searching for a rust crate that can scan audio tracks with MusicBrainz like https://docs.rs/discid/latest/discid/ can do it for CD/DVD.
I want to write a daemon that scans a download folder, saves infos and moves the processed files to certain directories.I only know a GUI (Picard) that does similar stuff, but i want to automate it.
:boostRequest: :boost_ok:

I've been processing some songs with MusicBrainz Picard in my spare time and the experience with Jellyfin has improved so much! It automatically finds all the metadata reliably, songs are in the correct order, there are no weird duplicate items... I also added a lyrics plugin to the Jellyfin instance and it automatically found most of the lyrics for the music online. Combined with Finamp, it is so enjoyable to use!

Just discovered MusicBrainz Picard. What an incredibly useful software tool for identifying and tagging music! Before, I manually edited each track's metadata in Jellyfin, which took so long.

@remilia I have the first fully working version of my XQAF plugin for #MusicBrainzPicard ready :) As a bonus it also handles plain QOA files (loading and renaming only of course).
Currently it's in https://github.com/phw/picard-plugins/tree/xqaf/plugins/xqaf
The zstd requirement is a bit problematic for people using a packaged version of Picard. I think we can get this sorted in our next Picard release, though. The plugin also works without it, just loading and tagging files with compressed tags will then not work.

#Jellyfin with remote access is a gamechanger for listening to music at work, but the metadata is a pain. Set up my music library thrice before learning about #MusicBrainzPicard but now things are running smoothly.
Also have #audiobookshelf working remotely and almost up to date.
Removing reliance on corporate servers for as many services as possible is the goal. #WorkInProgress
(FYI, if you are trying to reverse proxy but don't have a public IP, use cloudflare to set up a free tunnel)
