Don't mind me. Just re-tagging the 13000-odd mp3s in my music collection. Mostly so I can import them properly into Music Assistant.
Mainly because filesystems have gotten lots better at handling unicode characters in the intervening 20 years 😀
As I'd tagged them all with #MusicBrainzPicard in the first place, updating things is proving pretty painless.

@herrherrmann feels so good! I've got my late dad's music collection he ripped from CDs accessible from anywhere in the world, and I've been buying used CDs to fill in gaps in his collection and building up my own.
I'm using #Ampache and #MusicbrainzPicard for tagging.

No creo que haya mucha información sobre este programa en español, así que puede ser interesante para aquellos que están interesados en organizar su colección musical al detalle 👌🏻.

Spent most of Friday working on my music collection. I've changed and added metadata for thousands of songs.
I don't understand why I don't get bored. I even forgot to eat dinner. Will probably spend my weekend doing this and having great time while doing it for some reason.

La théorie : "Ha ouais trop bien l'appli #MusicbrainzPicard sur smartphone, tu scanne le code-barre et ça charge l'album que t'as dans picard sur l'ordi"
La réalité : *picard charge 5 versions de l'album parce que le distributeur a utiliisé le même code-barre pour toutes les versions, même celles ou ya 24 pistes et non 10* -

I could compliment MusicBrainz Picard all day every day, it's so good. I love it when you try to look up files based on their metadata but the lookup fails. Instead, you just tell Picard "Just listen to the content and figure it out" and it actually does.
Feels like magic!

For the music lovers (and overlapping: Jellyfin users), i am searching for a rust crate that can scan audio tracks with MusicBrainz like https://docs.rs/discid/latest/discid/ can do it for CD/DVD.
I want to write a daemon that scans a download folder, saves infos and moves the processed files to certain directories.I only know a GUI (Picard) that does similar stuff, but i want to automate it.

I've been processing some songs with MusicBrainz Picard in my spare time and the experience with Jellyfin has improved so much! It automatically finds all the metadata reliably, songs are in the correct order, there are no weird duplicate items... I also added a lyrics plugin to the Jellyfin instance and it automatically found most of the lyrics for the music online. Combined with Finamp, it is so enjoyable to use!

Just discovered MusicBrainz Picard. What an incredibly useful software tool for identifying and tagging music! Before, I manually edited each track's metadata in Jellyfin, which took so long.
