  1. @haq Thanks. By filtering to all of 2019 I got this hopefully not paywalled article about the #sheep #grazing in #London recently. This would work in many #NYC parks.#RiversidePark, #VanCortlandtPark. I think #CentralPark is too busy and I'm unfamiliar with #ProspectPark. It would be good to cut back on the use of fossil fuel and noise. People will complain about the poop, but then it they already have to mindful of goose poop and dog poop.

  2. @soniashah @NatGeo The more I hear about feral pigs or hogs, the more I like it as a solution to many #NYC problems. There are no crops in #NYC to eat outside of gated gardens. They will be a problem for motorists. Will they be a problem for bicyclists? Their presence will encourage all bikers to go slow. They will eat non-native invasives such as #japaneseKnotWeed, #ItalianArum and #LesserCelandine as they root around.

  7. Went. Easy trip by analog bike and #6 subway. Really need #citiBike docks at #PelhamBayPark subway station and #OrchardBeach. I took my own bike.

  8. I know it's kludgey but installing an accessible circuit breaker with an #inductionStove would get around the cost of rewiring a building. Who is running more than two burners on peak output simultaneously?

  9. My ONLY reason to go to Twitter is to see what #GershKuntsman is up to with his #CriminalMischief . I just wish he'd start posting here with #StreetsBlogNYC

  10. I will be this weekend. Last night I was asked why. An excellent question. I had a good answer but the bottom line is that vines I cut only grow on the edges of forests. Roads for cars create lots of edges. Invasive vines are a car problem. Money spent to control vines should be paid for by road users.

  20. Was searching for an exchange with @atthenius about #BronxRiver dam #sediment. Couldn't find it. Found this though from just 8 days ago. stormh2o.com/stormwater-manage
About 2/3rds of the way down is a section on Bronx Zoo & Dam and Stone Mill Dam Restoration Project, New York. Had not known about this. If the sedimentation behind the Bronx River dams is dangerous then that sedimentation should be removed.

  21. #vinecutters Today I got permission from #NYCParkStewards to use my manual #hedgeShears when working on invasive vines. I first used hedge shears while working with the #HastingsOnHudsonVineSquad. They are great for cutting through a mass of invasive vines that are not thick enough for hand shears or loppers. Not having them is like bringing a knife to a gunfight.

  22. Planning to join Bob DelTorto this Sunday for the #VineCutting along the #BronxRiver near the #Crestwood #MetroNorth station in #WestchesterCounty #NY. Route will involve the #MTA's infamous #Bx12SBS bus along #FordhamRoad
