Had a random thought occur to me while thinking about accessibility in games.
Do you think achievements being disabled for using a "God Mode" or "Story Mode" type of modifier like in games is ableist? Basically, any type of toggle that makes the game very difficult to *lose*. I'd like to hear your thoughts on why either way.

CW: Question about Ethics of Derivative Fanworks
Gift Fic was a good suggestion as I was looking for something that put that more front and center like podfic.
Alt Alt text was another one someone commented that I thought was funny and cute.
But now I'm wondering what would ethical attribution be like? Do you embed the fanart? Link to a post where the artist put it? What if its a walled garden like twitter or tumblr that limits what youre allowed to see without an account? Should you make fic based on "Do Not Repost" art? What if the artist of the piece doesnt come up with reverse image search? What if the original poster deleted it.
I've often wondered about this stuff, because I know on one hand, credit the artist (no brainer) on the other hand, what happens if the artist washes their hands of it or disappeared to time? I'm certain most people who save art, even while trying to find OP, has at minimum a dozen or so pictures that have no trail

Thanks to their guidance, I was able to identify my keyboard type and confidently open it up to examine the Mylar membrane. At first glance it looked pristine, but on closer visual inspection and doing continuity checks with a multimeter, I found a break - which someone else had thoughtfully highlighted for me!
I've ordered a new membrane from #Retrohax_de, which seems to be the same https://retronics.eu membrane as sold by https://retrolemon.co.uk.
(The membrane available from https://www.retrofuzion.com appears to be for the rubber dome version, comparing it with the other variant from retrolemon, though they don't say.)
I'd never have figured all this out without the kindness of strangers. Thank you, Beeblebrox. And the mystery person who had inspected this membrane before and highlighted the break!

Who else is getting ready for this year's #AdventOfCode ? I have updated my #RustLang template over at https://github.com/beeb/aoc-rust if you need some ideas or a basis on how to organize your repo. It enforces the use of #winnow for parsing the text files into your desired input format, but you can easily change that by adjusting the `day::Day::parser` signature in the trait to return a `Result<Self::Input>` if you prefer to hand-write it.
