i know this isnt true 100% of the time but when i see that someone makes a very vague point about not wanting to discuss syscourse, my immediate paranoid thought is that they believe that people fake being systems,and worse, that "they can tell" if something is DID or not

And at the end of the day whether that's true or not; the potential of someone lying does not mean you disrespect them. For instance, Even if your trans experiences don't align, proper decency is still using the correct pronouns no matter what. Its not a reward for good behavior

And this is more a reflection of me having to be on the defense more than "calling out" people in particular. After all, my friends and no doubt myself most likely have been screenshot and shared and fake claimed and nobody knows our circumstances other than what they assume about what we share. But they"ll point to a quirky coping mechanism and laugh at us

It can also definitely mean "I don't know enough about this to talk about it" which is fine and reasonable to expect too! I just harbor suspicion at anyone who clings so tightly onto an anti-endo perspective. It's redirected ableism and fucking hatefully punching laterally. (Endogenic Systems are systems whose origin does not come from trauma.)

Its also fair to be annoyed by horror stories you see and experience but at the end of the day you gotta also internalize, part of what makes these stories so interesting is that compared to all other social events, they're rare or not interesting enough to mention. Not to mention think of horror stories people share about those with your identities, your fandoms.

If it's so horrible and exhausting having to deal with people thinking you're awful because they had a bad experience with someone that shared a trait with you, why are you perpetuating that forward on innocent people? Someone else's experiences does not discredit your own.

"You don't need trauma to be a system" in no way means "As a system, you have never had trauma." and is meant to include not only systems formed out of spiritual and religious origins, but self made systems as well.

Honestly a lot of times when Im hesitant or anxious to post something on AO3 thats unconventional (like art or voice acting skits), I narrowed it down to my hesitancy to "take up space". I guess it makes sense considering how I usually felt out of place or like a dishonest shill when i tried to promote myself.

And tbh! I think most people wouldn't expect that from me because of how vehement I usually was with promoting myself and my art anyway, but it was part of my whole "fake it till you make it" philosophy I've used as my guiding principles since High School.

That's also around the time I started getting into acting, which then led to my kins, Romano and Lithuania, to become full born headmates. Part of the reason for that is I would intentionally personify myself as them to navigate situations that made me extremely anxious. Romano for my social anxiety and his surly flippancy to be a mask for insecurities. And Lithuania for deferring to my mother in a subservient manner to avoid her rages getting worse than what they were. It's to be expected, i only wish I could have recognized them back then, since my syscovery was only in 2021 when things took a turn for the worse.

But I'm glad I know them now, and I have headmates who aren't afraid to speak up. So even if I'm scared, and I'm still scared when I do something, I'm still doing something.
