I've got Day After Tomorrow to watch . Not seen it in a while, but I remember it being such a good disaster movie (that's a bit too close to reality).
Bit of a silly name though 😅 -

After posting this morning about finding folks who like to ride #motorcycles and who also #code, I've created a Discord server!
Come along and chat about programming, motorcycles, technology, and everything in between!

Honestly not entirely sure what to start with. Seems like there's some interest! Maybe a simple hashtag?

Had one of the worst lunches at a #GBK in a long while, and now feeling *rough*. So glad I'm not like 300 miles from home... 😒

So, what have we learned:
#GiffGaff in this case is probably the cheapest. #Voxi comes out in second.
The "main" carriers are hardly competing with each other, and can have widely different pricing and tariff structures.Basically, it pays to shop around.

Lets dive into #Voxi, a similar cheap network like #GiffGaff, that uses the #Vodafone network.
> £43.75 PCM, unlimited minutes and texts, 45GB of data (winter sale only) - monthly rolling contract, 24 months paying off the phone, as you buy the phone separately through PayPal Finance.
Ok, more expensive than #GiffGaff, but you do get more data and certain apps like WhatsApp are just free.
However, I couldn't find any info about EU roaming. So... I guess that's not included?
-
Come on then #O2, lets see what you can do:
> £51.05 PCM, unlimited minutes and texts, 25GB of data
Ok, better than #EE, but still not great. £13 more expensive *for the same network*.
I also can't tell if there's EU roaming, as the website is vague. But they're incredibly loud about the mid contract rises (wonder why that is)
> Will rise to £52.85 in April this year, and then £54.65 in April 2026
So by the end of the 25 months, you're paying £17 more than #GiffGaff for the same network
-
Next up is #GiffGaff - which uses the #o2 network under the hood anyway (and it's who I'm with).
> £37.05 PCM, unlimited minutes and text, 25GB of data, 5G (fastest available) - 18 month carrier contract, 24 month contract for iPhone, as you buy the phone separately through Klarna.
For an extra £5 a month, there's no 18 month carrier contract. And has EU roaming up to 5GB of data. Nice.
So that's what, £17 cheaper than #EE?

The UK was robbed.

This is honestly quiet funny, and I hope they win.

It's a bank holiday Monday, and it's currently not pissing with rain!
Time to grab the bike and head out on the roads!

Just tried to use #Anthropics AI chat client, Claud, for something. It claims to be "privacy first", yet it needed my phone number and email.
So yeah, nope.

I'm intrigued by what #Mocrosoft have built with #OpenAi. I think the biggest hurdle for my adoption of such a tool will be changing how I currently search. Big fan of #DuckDuckGo, and gotten used to finding / using the web in a certain way.

I really like #resilience4j , but oof their docs are hard to grok sometimes. I end up having to write unit tests with it to test my theories / understanding. #Java #tech #Programming
