So for reasons that may or may not be obvious to some, I need to travel to France next year. Either via public transport, or the easiest way.....a 900 kilometres (each way) trip on a motorcycle.

So that folks, is why I was outside a convenience store at 10pm last night sending off my old passport so it can be renewed before it expires in December. #motorcyle

No body asked, but my ride back home was great. I pretty much hit all the green lights and didn't have to put my feet down for maybe 10miles.

Finally, another #motorcyle video. My #TriumphBonneville came equipped with a windshield, but in the end it was too big and I didn’t think the looks gelled with the bike. So I changed it for something more in keeping with the style of the bike.

Of course that means it’ll probably rain for the next few weeks.

Contrary to popular belief, I actually do occasionally use my motorcycles instead of just trying to fix them 😆. A couple of weekends ago, I took my BMW R100GS out in search for some peak fall colours around where I live.

First thoughts on the RE Scram.

It's smol! Feels light, handles nice, very smooth engine. Sounds very good, sounds like a #motorcyle should.

Not for the motorway. It did the 60km I had to do, but with no power to spare. 120km/h on the dash with the throttle fully pegged. To its credit, even at full throttle it feels relaxed and not strained, so while it got nothing to give anymore, it's still a fairly comfortable ride.

No wind protection on the Scram though and it's a fairly windy day.

This is going to join the cohort of my "forever #motorcycles" in a few weeks.

Here's a top tip if you happen to manufacture #motorcycles: don't make shiny parts out of brushed aluminium.

Totally unrelated #motorcyle maintenance question: what is the best way or product to keep brushed aluminium surfaces on your bike shiny?

Does anyone have a modern Royal Enfield around here? I've heard good things from YouTube videos but then on Reddit I see tons of issues when it comes to maintenance and parts. Thoughts?

One highlight of my recent Isle of Man/Ireland trip - got to meet the only American winner of any class at the TT, Dave Roper. As it happens my brother races against him in vintage racing. He was just wandering about in the crowd. Apparently he did a parade lap ... unfortunately we had left by that point.

Just got back from my ride, out for about 4 hours and about 80 miles. Took in a fantastic coffee shop and a beautiful 12th century church

Rode with a trusted friend that helped me enormously find my confidence again. Usual dickheads trying to kill us, but we vanished down some tiny, forgotten roads into the marsh and rode in peace.

I got abandoned at one point where my buddy nicked the grom 😁
