I share this because if you come from a manipulative family or a codependent family, the grief can be mistaken for guilt or shame. Do not fall into that trap.
Do not put yourself back into a gaslit echo chamber unless you’re in a safe state of mind to do so. Do not compromise your morals and values for anyone. You don’t owe anyone anything.

Witnessing #codependent friends go into one relationship after another & never spending much time, truly doing self introspection - has never resulted in anything good or great.
It's resulted in witnessing more folks that I care about, harming themselves. There's very little I can do about that when people I care about, refuse to learn to do better for themselves & keep getting into new relationships before dealing with their past relationship traumas.

"To honor the self is to be willing to think independently, to live by our own mind, and to have the courage of our own perceptions and judgments.
To honor the self is to be willing to know not only what we think but also what we feel, what we want, need, desire, suffer over, are frightened or angered by—and to accept our right to experience such feelings. The opposite of this attitude is denial, disowning, repression—self-repudiation.
To honor the self is to preserve an attitude of self-acceptance—which means to accept what we are, without self-oppression or self-castigation, without any pretense about the truth of our own being, pretense aimed at deceiving either ourselves or anyone else.
To honor the self is to live authentically, to speak and act from our innermost convictions and feelings.
To honor the self is to refuse to accept unearned guilt, and to do our best to correct such guilt as we may have earned.
To honor the self is to be committed to our right to exist which proceeds from the knowledge that our life does not belong to others and that we are not here on earth to live up to someone else’s expectations. To many people, this is a terrifying responsibility.
To honor the self is to be in love with our own life, in love with our possibilities for growth and for experiencing joy, in love with the process of discovery and exploring our distinctively human potentialities.
Thus we can begin to see that to honor the self is to practice selfishness in the highest, noblest, and least understood sense of that word. And this, I shall argue, requires enormous independence, courage, and integrity.
We need to love ourselves and make a commitment to ourselves. We need to give ourselves some of the boundless loyalty that so many codependents are willing to give others. Out of high self-esteem will come true acts of kindness and charity, not selfishness.
The love we give and receive will be enhanced by the love we give ourselves."

I have Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD).
If you have stereotypes, expectations, or assumptions about what that means, then maybe this is a chance to reconsider or change them. If you think of me as a friend, as caring or supportive, as interesting or fun, or as a community member you like, then maybe think about how just because someone has a personality disorder doesn’t mean they can’t be these things.
There’s A LOT of stigma around BPD. Many people use it as a synonym for “abusive,” which is not only wrong, but makes it pretty damn hard for people with the disorder to get mental healthcare that can help. The vast majority of people with BPD are survivors of trauma and it often is comorbid with cPTSD, disorganized attachment history, and codependency. The difference for it versus those other things that research suggests is a genetic component where our nervous systems are hypersensitive to certain kinds of things, leading to developing the disorder when exposed to trauma and intense stress.
There are also useful skills, therapies, and interventions that can help you or your loved ones with BPD. It’s still hard, but I know it’s improved my life to finally work on it and make progress on my mental health. Can it be overwhelming and hard when someone with BPD is in crisis? Of course, especially if they haven’t gotten the right kinds of help and support. But so is everyone who is in crisis. As someone who has helped people with just about every disorder and people with no diagnosable disorders when they are in a mental health crisis, it is challenging to help folks when the shit hits the fan and you have to adapt your strategies to the person and what will help them.
People with BPD are not uniquely terrible or bad or evil or abusive, and I choose to be out about having it so we can begin to challenge the stigma around this.

I'm using the pattern from this MDN example to provide visual feedback for HTML form validation with just CSS. This works just fine in Gecko (Firefox / Zen) and Codepen.io but does not work the same in Blink (Vivaldi / Chromium).
I have no idea what I'm doing so would love any help, here's the code snippet, which also show the pico.css include.
Edit: fixed typo and wanted to add that I'm getting very close to unleashing my total nonsense acoustic-coding Go project. I'm excited to share my fumblings and stumblings to make something just for giggles! I hope I can nerd-snipe some experts in to giving me some guidance on what I should do differently. Basically, I'll be asking for more help soon, so thanks in advance!

Trying to figure out the CodePen 2.0 editor
Recently, CodePen introduced CodePen 2.0, and since then, I have been trying to figure out how to modify my workflow for this blog to use it. I have been using CodePen to host my code demos for over six years now, and it feels weird to change, but it seems like a positive development. Lately, I have been writing a lot of posts about how to use Vue.js with Web Awesome. Let’s start with something that we can use to demonstrate basic functionality with Vue.js, Web Awesome, and Font Awesome.
So, what’s going on here? In previous demos (like the one for More Web Awesome Dropdowns), there were three files for each pen (the markup, CSS, and JavaScript). For 2.0 pens, you can have many more (and it uses Vite). In the demo above, App.vue handles the application layout, Header.vue handles the header, and CounterButton.vue handles the button’s behavior. I have done A LOT of experimentation since the 2.0 editor dropped, and I can’t get a few things (like Vue Router) to work, but I am hoping that will come with time. Since I can add more files, I added the social meta tags and a manifest.json. It means that the result should be more shareable on its own. I also added a light-mode/dark-mode toggle, a link to view the files, and a link to the blog post.
I think that, moving forward, I will keep using the same header. I hope that you appreciate the result.
Example: https://strange-scene-malamute.codepen.app
