Been a big fan of Valentina Magaletti and her various and sundry projects(Vanishing Twin, Moin, Tomaga, and V/Z) for a few years.
I kinda think of these projects in a similar vein to Stereolab, Broadcast, Focus Group and possibly some other Ghost Box label bands.
Great stuff.

A few years ago, my neighborhood/apartment complex would've been going nuts celebrating a #SuperbOwl victory. Fireworks. Horn honking. General merry-making.
This year it's silent.
I'm not remotely interested in #Football; but, I can always appreciate some community jocularity. Someone always has managed to put on a good fireworks show.
Considering my local demographics, I'm kinda sad my neighborhood is so quiet tonight.

I'm wrapping up the slightly extended tribute week to my grumpy #SpiritAnimal Walter Matthau with yet another re-watch of the fabulous "The Taking of Pelham One Two Three".
This weeks #movies consisted of:
- The Laughing Policeman(1973)
- Charlie Varrick(1973)
- Hopscotch(1980)
- Mirage(1965)All new films, for me.
All hail his grumpy, disheveled, charming genius! -
CW: politics, USPol, US Politics
Today's newsletter from a writer I follow has a large section on the current situation with Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio.
He covers the recent history, the increased scrutiny on the Haitain members of the community, as well as how the community is organizing resistance against #Trump, DHS, and ICE with links to local organizational resources and opportunies to donate. Worth the read.
Craig Calcaterra is, primarily, a baseball blogger that I've followed for over a decade plus. However, he has always mixed his coverage of baseball with contemporary American politics, and "Gen X" pop culture among other topice. He's a bit goofy, self-effacing, and usually a fun read even if you have zero interest in baseball.
Check it out.

Hectic morning.
Head off in one direction for a checkup and then dash waaayy across town(s) for a blood draw. Even though I had two opportunities today, I'm not terribly pleased with the results(although I do like the smeariness of this one).
Regardless, my doctor's office parking lot photo series streak remains unbroken!
*shrug* Better luck next time. -
Holy crap! #Xfce now has got its own conspiracy thanks to our #Wayland development.
Somehow, our developer, Brian has infiltrated our development process(many years ago) to entrap humanity!
Brian --> Curtis Yarvin --> Steve Bannon --> Sam Altman --> ??? --> Profit!!!
This is gold! You heard it here first folks!🤪

That's sounds fascinating. Very jealous.
I've been a fan of Anselm Kiefer's work since I saw an exhibit of his at the Philadelphia Museum of Art in 1987(?). One of the highlights of my time as an art student many years ago. Awe inspiring work to see up close and in-person.
I was also unaware of Wenders film about him. Thanks for posting! Enjoy the tour!

Replacing labwc with xfwl4 would be the goal, yes.
Whether that happens with the upcoming 4.22 release, or not, is still TBD.
We'll have a much clearer plan & roadmap after the 1st development release of Xfwl4 (expected to be sometime mid-2026).

Judging by the number of "breaks" I've been taking all afternoon, I seem to be a bit irked and anxious about my writing -->revising -->formatting -->publishing workflow.
Seems unnecessarily clunky and cumbersome(this also includes the sudden, inexplicable loss of any spelling ability I may have, previously, possessed).
Hopefully, this year, I can improve on the process.
