  1. Hmm. I realized that this was just initial step and I need to read, learn and practice more to gain the eligibility of entering into some real life example. So, now I am going through the very famous book "Practical Common Lisp" by Peter Seibel.

Actually I selected this book only before I came to find the "Gentle Introduction..." book. But some topics and presentation went from top of my head! Haha.

Now I am confident enough to complete Seibel's book.

  2. Just completed the book "Common Lisp: A Gentle Introduction to Symbolic Computation" 1990 editon!

Recently, 3 months ago I started learning the basic of Lisp (inspired by reading Free As in Freedom 2.0), installed Emacs, Slime, SBCL and continued learning whenever I got some time.

Although my choice of book/stuff may be obsolete however I feel the learning is quite meaningful. Hoping for implementing/experimenting it further to some practical recognizable task.

  3. @codebuzz GNU initiated many such software in response to well known proprietary resistance. Few examples are GNOME, Hurd, GNUStep, GNU Social, GNU Arch/Bazaar, Oleo / Gnumeric etc..

Although not all of them continued however the important thing is to stay true to upholding and preserving the ideals and philosophy!

  4. Have a look at the acronym I made for just for philosophical fun!

    List Interpreted Smart Parenthesis

Btw, It's only two months I started learning / experimenting Common-Lisp (inspired by reading )

Did you like it? Or share yours!

  5. @rohitfarmer.com Nice, you can add the tag if all listed software are Libre!

  6. @glitzersachen By the way, is not retro, it's metro!

(subst 'metro 'retro '(retro computing by LISP))

I recently started learning common Lisp (partially inspired by Free as in Freedom 2.0) and now feeling very enthusiastic to learn and experiment more and more!

  7. @yoasif Any idea why GNU's hasn't gained a recognizable user base?

  8. @Tutanota Nice awareness. Although I have been using as my primary mail service provider since 2018 (just after OpenMailBox was sold), I have recently added as a secondary. (Recommendations from fsf.org/resources/webmail-syst)

Btw, I have been using (becoming now) since a decade on my Android phone.

I have found that Tuta is not supporting IMAP/SMTP protocols and hence I will have to install Tuta's Android application. How does it works without these protocols?

  9. @GIMP Nice! is one of the essential tool that makes my (deep-pandya.codeberg.page/free)

Btw, I learned from gimp.org/develop/ that It is no longer part of the Project!

  10. @itsfoss Nice. Btw, you could use the word "freedom" to highlight how GNU/Linux is philosophically different!

  11. Happy Deepavali!

    💻✨🎆🪔

May the light of Libre Software shine bright this Deepavali — spreading knowledge and freedom, and driving away the darkness of unethical proprietary software!
