Their conversation is related to my novel. Rhaski noticed that Zhaikes' behavior around the human is suspicious to say the least, and he indulges in teasing him about it :')

Another sketch of #Rhaski. He is a bit of a trickster, very curious, equally cunning, but usually friendly.
He tends to get very serious on the job though. He is a scientist, doctor and inventor. He likes to create his own bio-mechanic creatures and everything surgical.
Once, he modified Laras eyes, bec she mentioned she can't see in the dark. She was not amused..

One more of those lads!
This one is called #Rhaski, nickname Rha. He is Zhaikes' (younger) brother.
The brothers are complete opposites. Where Zhaikes is the grim "poker-face" politician, Rha dislikes politics and is an outgoing, humourous person - but also very curious, like the "let me see your inner workings" type of curiosity.
And do you remember Sorrax, the banished scientist? Guess who was Rha's teacher and role model..

And in case you were wondering: Yes, all my species & characters are from the same universe & are in some ways connected.
9 species are part of the federation, called Araz - #ZhorKhat, #Arka & #Karyta are part of it.
1 more species is extinct, the #Srella, known as "the old ones", whose legacy is used as a common ground (e.g. the simplified version of their language, standards for time & distances, & technology).

Regarding their language: You're right about the sign language! That's the first thing #Arka & #Karyta learned from the #ZhorKhat. The latter were the 3rd species to intervene and luckily were much more advanced already (think cowboys VS aliens :D). That's why they managed to figure out their languages quite quickly and tried to act as a bridge. Still wasn't easy though xD

Glad you like it! 🙏Oh it's just bec I quite often avoid drawing clothes, bec I'm not good at it, bec I avoid them - this is a never ending story 😅
For this specific species (the #Darakay) it's actually very normal to wear clothes. Most common are layers of different pieces and/or thicker pieces for protection. I should learn how to draw this..
Then there are others like the #TarNex who don't wear anything at all. And the #ZhorKhat who wear bio-armor.

[Lara] having a talk with [Sorrax].
I once mentioned he's an alien "doctor", with a penchant for alterations, adaptations and.. experiments. No questions asked. No regrets.I drew this in my #sketchbook, with fineliners and without planning anything out 😅 Next time I'd like to pay more attention to the positioning of the characters and the speech bubbles. If you have any feedback, I'm happy to hear it!

Remember the sleepy gal who was dozing on [#Zhaikes]' shoulder? That's her - she's fine! :)
[Lara] isn't exactly the poser-type, but I couldn't help it. Oh, and [Karbes] is the ship's "artificial personality", so basically an AI with way too many "lively" features for a created being.Find some thoughs about this in the replies..

...in the meantime, the [#ZhorKhat] weren't the only species who suffered from the attacks of the [#ZarkuRa]. the [#Darakay] were affected too.so, this was the perfect opportunity for the Zhor Khat to offer a piece treaty to the Darakay, on the promise to eliminate their common enemy. they asked them to join the Zhor Khat and give them a say in their politics in exchange for protection..

if there is a god-like species in my world, it must be the [#Srella] and even those are gone by now. it's the oldest of all my creations, the "ancient ones", whose time had already come to an end when the [#ZhorKhat] made contact with the [#Darakay]. and all that was left of them, was ghost-like manifestations woven into their machines, who spoke of a long gone world. -

don't worry, I can live with a bit of silence ;)yes, [#ZhorKhat] are indeed capable of cooperation, but their first one was.. difficult. there was a third species involved and a terrible war. the alliance with the [#Darakay] was their last resort. and the beginning of something bigger. they called it [Nea n‘Araz te Rakk], "The End of War", in short: [Araz]. it's the federation of species. first they were 2, now they are 9, in the present of my world :)

[#Shendran] aren't animals, but they aren't as intelligent as the [#Darakay] either. but they are part of the Darakay's society and they have their own (very simplified) speech. on top of that, they are loyal to their guild and masters. AND they can perform small tasks if taught correctly..
now, guess when the [#ZhorKhat] first came up with the idea of building [Hybrids]. it was certainly no case of coincidence.

what inspired the creation of [Hybrids]?
a very long time ago, the [#ZhorKhat] started their first cooperation with another species, the [#Darakay]. it wasn't a true cooperation, with two equal parts, but let's leave out those details..
anyway, the Darakay live with a semi-intelligent species, the [#Shendran], a quadrupedal creature that has an extra set of limbs akin to hands..

…but they also build clean, angular structures, which makes the ship a strange combination of organic and synthetic parts. they even grow their cloths and their “machines”. thus, the words “organic” and “synthetic” have long since lost their distinct meanings.
PS.: the doors aren’t visible, because human eyes can’t differentiate enough shades of green to see them~
